1st coaster

Well, the only "big" amusement park i ever been too before going to Cedar Point for the first time 4 years ago was Kennywood in Pittsburgh, PA. I was always a daredevil when it came to riding rides. As a child at Kennywood i would cry because i wasn't tall enough for the "big" Phantoms Revenge at Kennywood. Of coarse, when i got that height (48 inches) I rode it, loved it. I loved roller coasters from an early age, and loved any kind of thrill! I am obsessed with rides, amusement parks, ect. After obsessing over Cedar Point since 11 years old, my parents, took me there for 2 days on my 13th birthday. Trying to lead my whole family to the Millennium Force, my older siblings got distracted with the Iron Dragon. (I know, not so thrilling) I tried explaining to them it wasn't a thrill. But.. they insisted. So, that was my FIRST coaster at Cedar Point. My second was the Mantis. Which i love. Then the Millennium, and then the Dragster. I still obsess over the place today, and i go on the website more than facebook. But, in all, my FIRST roller coaster and ride, in CEDAR POINT, was the Iron Dragon.

Now that I think about it, mine was Disaster Transport.

Hmmm, tomorrow's trip is going to be a little bittersweet now............

I was riding everything at Kings Island by the time my family made our first trip to CP in '91, so I guess it was probably Blue Streak, given its location.

And like Mike, my first anywhere was that small wooden one at KI, except by then, they called it The Beastie.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Oh. *inserts face in palm*

I'm not certain anymore, but I think my first coaster at CP was Blue Streak. This would have been around 1975 or so. I have the vague memory of Jumbo Jet looking too intimidating at that age.

The Beastie at Kings Island was my first roller coaster ever. First one at CP was Gemini in 1979, after my mom and dad glued 1 1/2 inch plastic inserts over the soles of my shoes so I could make minimum height to ride all coasters at CP.

My first coaster was either Blue Streak or WildCat. I remember being too scared to try Mine Ride. They didn't have too many coasters there when I was a kid.

Either Mine Ride or Gemini, I can't remember which for sure. First coaster ever was Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. A little off topic I guess but my husband and I went to Cedar Point on our wedding day andI rode Gemini in my wedding dress. I wasn't planning to, we were just going to get old time photos but we got bored waiting for the picture to develop so we decided to ride a coaster.

My earliest coaster memory was Avalanche Run. I am guessing it was 1987 or 1988. I don't remember much from that day, but I do remember my older brother comparing the park to Geauga Lake. I remember one of the things he mentioned was the difference between the two Corkscrews, and how CP had eight coasters, comapared to whatever Geauga Lake had at the time.

Seeing Disaster Transport go was bitter sweet. The ride was not great, but it had sentimental value.

Being Mavericky since 2007!

My first roller coaster ever was the Corkscrew at Geauga Lake.

Cedar Point, that would be a tough one to remember. I would think jr. gemini, but its been like 22 years so thats asking alot for me anymore. Besides we went to Geauga Lake a lot more so back then i remembered their rides much more.

However, i do remember being scared of the iron dragon when we went there once. Have some fun at my expense. However, after riding i thought it was the best thing ever. I also had to buy the shirt with money my grandmother customarily gave my brother and I to spend when we went once a year to Cedar Point.

I Miss the Pirate ride.

The first coaster I ever rode at CP was Mean Streak, many many years ago. Wooden coasters are my favorite. I know I am showing my age now but the 1st coaster I ever rode was at Myers Lake in Canton when I was about 7 years old my dad took me on the big wooden coaster. I don't know what the name of it was but I have been a fan of wooden coasters ever since.

That would have been the Comet at Meyers Lake.

Mine Ride. We always viewed it as a kiddie coaster back then. Not sure what the height requirement was but I know at the time, I was not tall enough to ride the Blue Streak or Jumbo Jet.

I view my first real coaster as the Blue Streak. I remember worrying that I wasn't tall enough. My older brothers were coaching me on standing on my toes when they checked my height and flat footed when they checked my feet. My dad told me the two of us would ride the rocket ride which was where Calypso is now if I wasn't tall enough. There was a boy in front of us in line who was about an 1 or 2 short but they let him ride anyways which made me feel better. When he got off the ride, he took 2 steps and threw up all over the unloading platform. That didn't make me feel good. I was tall enough to ride and managed not to throw up.

I was only tall enough to ride Jumbo Jet the last year it was open. So I only rode it once. I cannot remember when I rode the Wild Cat for the first time. I pretty much rode the rest of the coasters for the first time as they were built (other than Woodstock and Jr. Gemini which I didn't ride until I had kids).

Blue streak back in...well, we won't go there. My back still hurts ;)

Peace Love Hope

If I remember correctly, my first CP coaster was Blue Streak too. I also rode Avalanche Run, Iron Dragon, Gemini, Mean Streak, Mine Ride, and Corkscrew (6 times in a row!) that same trip. Had a BLAST that day! :) Now I think I've been on everything except TDD - for some reason, I can't bring myself to ride that one for the first time by myself. LOL

wow alot of you are really young! I was 13 once....back in 2000 :) when MF was new :)

As for my first coaster, it was the kiddie coaster at Memphis kiddie park in cleveland. I was about 2 then.

My first CP coaster was corkscrew in 1998. I was scared to death about going upside down in loops. Then I rode with my sis and dad. My mom watched from the midway. We rode power tower down, and since I was scared of being dropped, that helped me brave that too. I also did Iron dragon, Gemini, wildcat, and blue streak that day. (still a tad scared, though). They also tried to bribe me to go on raptor, but I never did because of the inversions, but for some reason, I rode corkscrew again that night. Maybe it was raptor's tall hill. I never went back to ride up on PT, however that day.

My first coaster was the Double Loop at Geauga Lake when I was five.

I'm not quite sure what my first coaster at Cedar Point was, possibly Disaster Transport (I was barely 48" the first time I went to the park), but I do know my first ride at Cedar Point was Demon Drop.
