1st coaster

What was everyone's first roller coaster at the park? My first trip to the point was when I was 7 and it was the year Dragster opened. The only other coaster I've been on before that was the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake/Six Flags. So I arrived at the park with my parents and I told them I wanted to ride the Dragster. I was tall enough, but my parents were still nervous about letting me ride. They even made me watch it and explained to me what it did, but I still insisted to go on it. So we waited in the really long line and finally rode it. I absolutely loved it! But for the rest of the day I refused to go on anything bigger than the Iron Dragon. I have no clue why, but after the Dragster I was done for the day. It took me a few more years before I was able to conquer the other big rides, but Dragster, not Jr. Gemini or Woodstock Express, was my first coaster at the park and only 2nd coaster ever. So that was my starting point (call me crazy). So I'm just curious toward what other peoples' first rides were.

The first coaster that I have a memory of riding at Cedar Point is the Magnum. I rode it opening year, so I would've been 6.

It scared the crap out of me... and I had plenty of time to think about what I was getting myself into as the line often went far out into the midway past the bathrooms.

Blue Streak was first and first one I was actually nervous about was The Corkscrew the year it opened

Mine was actually Jr. Gemini, and I was super young. Gosh, the park was so different back then,

My first visit to Cedar Point when I was 4. I just rode stuff at Kiddy Kingdom.

2004 - My first coaster was the Woodstock Express. I thought it was the scariest thing in the world. (:

When I was 10 (I still was scared of coasters) I rode Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Disaster Transport for the first time. I remember being so scared in line and after it was my favorite.

In 2011, When I went to Holiday World I overheard someone talking about upside down roller coasters and how you don't feel anything when you go upside down. When I went home I looked up Cedar Point's coasters and I memorized all the heights, speeds, manufacturers and watched all the POVs 20 times (: My goal was to ride Gemini, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, WildCat, and Mean Streak. (Yeah, I know, I should've ridden half of those years ago. )

When we went with my cousins, I rode all of the coasters on my list (in that order)

The next day, they told me Maverick was just like the Corkscrew so I rode it. I was so scared but I ended up loving it!

Later that year when we went for Halloweekends my goal was to ride Mantis and Raptor which I did. I was going to ride Magnum but it was stuck at the top of the hill. (I was relieved but kind of sad)

During the offseason I had a lot of time to think about MF, WT. Magnum, and TTD. When I went in May I rode them all!

My most recent trip I rode Power Tower for the first time.

All I need to do now is rode Skyhawk and maXair which I'm skeptical about riding it.

Taylor, you will love Skyhawk and maXair!

If you have done Power Tower, these other two will be a piece of cake! :-)

I didn't go to Cedar Point for the first time until 2004, so I was like 13. First coaster was Blue Streak. Been back many times, haven't ridden one since.

The Beastie @ King's Island. Best thing at Cedar Point for kids was King Arthurs Court. This was in the early 80's though. Sure would love to go on the Smurf ride again @ King's Island.

Magnum!

Raptor. There's nothing quite like going around a loop for the first time.

I don't remember for sure which one was the first. I do, however, remember my first day of riding, 22 years ago. It wasn't voluntary either, my dad pretty much forced me on them when I was 5 or 6 (birthday is in August and forget which part of the summer it was). I just barely made the height requirement, but evidently I was tall enough. In the order I think I rode them:
Iron Dragon was a blast and my favorite ride for a few years. After the first visit, I used to go with my grandfather when he got in free because of where he worked. He played bingo above the arcade, and told me I was allowed to stay riding the same ride so he knew where to find me.
Corkscrew was the worst ride I have ever been on in my life. As I said, I was barely tall enough, so any bit of air time and I was getting slammed into the shoulder harness. I was crying from the pain after the first corkscrew, got off the ride and had solid bruises on both shoulders from the restraints.
Disaster Transport had awesome themeing, this was when everything was still working; and to a young kid who loved anything that had to do with space or robots or sci fi, I was in heaven during the queue. The ride was pretty fun, except for the part I hit my head on hard enough to start bleeding. I have no clue what it could have been. Even with hitting my head, it was still such a better ride than the corkscrew that I really shouldn't even compare it.

First Cedar Point was Blue Streak, first non-cedar point, and first over all was whichever side of the Racer at Kings Island was always forward.

Iron Dragon was my first. That was the only coaster I would ride for years.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

My first roller coaster was Jr Gemini. My first 'big ride' was Iron Dragon, if you want to call it a big ride.
