We stayed at hotel Breakers 10/11/13. I thought it would be nice to go in October when it wasn't cold and or raining. Well so did everyone else! Lol. I noticed Saturday the fast pass lines were long. Even the mine ride line was long. So we left Saturday around 4:00. The entire parking lot was full. Cars were at a standstill out the entire causeway and backed up on Cleveland. I couldn't believe it. People were actually parking somewhere outside the park and walking out the causeway. If anyone had a reservation for the hotels in the park, I don't see how they could even park back by the hotels. I think there needs to be a maximum capacity where it's just not feasible to let anymore ppl in.
We didn't go to the park but spent the day on our boat. We were in the bay and saw cars parked all along the causeway. It was a great day to be on the lake and not in the park.

First Cedar Point Visit - 1972
Dockholder-Cedar Point Marina
Friday night was reasonably crowded. Longest wait was half hour for MF. Didn't make it to early entry unfortunately. Luckily, Maverick was shut down briefly and we walked up to it right about as they were letting people back in the cue so didn't have to wait. Got everything in except Wicked Twister for my season farewell visit. Could of done it, but by midnight I was ready to leave. Didn't do any haunts, even though I planned to.
Personally, if I was waiting 2 hours just to get to the tollbooths like some were reporting, that would've been my cue to turn around and go back home. I avoid Saturday's for that reason.
Yes they should have realized it was a bad idea to go in when they saw how long the line of cars were to get in the parking lot.
Columbus day weekend, perfect weather, horrible crowds. I was curious what the lines were like in the park.
We were there a couple of years ago, I think it was Columbus Day weekend. They were parking cars on grass on the causeway that particular Sat. around 3-4 in the afternoon when we left to watch the osu football game. Oh by the way, It was 80 degrees out and sunny. As far as turning people away, I feel its risky business if your website says open till midnight.
