My three sons (Ages 14, 11 & 8) and I just completed what we called the 2002 Great Roller Coaster Tour travelling from Florida to CP and points beyond. With lots of planning and help from this board and others we had a great trip. We flew to Richmond, drove to CP and spent 2 rainy days there. The rain kept the crowds small and gave us the run of the park. By the second day it warmed up enough to visit Soak City briefly. After hitting al 4 parks we all voted that CP was the best park we visited, MF of course the best ride (our first ride and as they say everything else was downhill from there!). We complied a fun list of bests, from the usual to the ridiculous i.e best landscaping BGW, best seats Apollo's Chariot, best operators clearly CP. Our only dissapointment was WT and Hypersonic being down. It was a great trip, we rode 43 different coasters, had over 100 coaster rides and now consider ourselves certified (whether that is roller coaster experts or just plain certified is left to be decided). We did all the right things, arrived early, returned later in the eveing, brought a cooler (no park food or drinks), planned our rides and only waited for MF and Raptor and not more than half an hour. Everything else we walked on. I particulary liked Blue Streak and my boys liked Magnum. Besides being awed by MF, I was most impressed by the CP people. They were wonderful, especially compared to some of the who cares attitudes we saw at other parks. It was truly the GREAT roller coaster tour.
