Nice day, 60 degree or so weather.

The park was about as busy as any Summer day though. Maverick got up to 1.5 hours in wait all through the day, TTD was at 3/4th an hour for most of the day, but Millennium Force was only bout 30 minutes and under an hour for all day.

The park when we arrived at 10:03 A.M was strangely SUPER quiet. As if no ERT guests were in the park. The Magnum was empty. No wait for any train.

We then go to ride the TTD and walk right on to the loading platform. We have a 2 ride cycle wait for the Wicked Twister, and then we go to check out Raptor at around noon and it was a one hour wait. The park was absolutely dead in the morning. I remember driving by Maverick at about 9:45 and saying holy jebus look it theres no line still. I think everyone was just a little tired from Saturday.

Skyhawk managed to work up a bit of a wait towards the end of the day. (1/2 an hour 3/4th an hour)

Smoking was at its worst I have seen this entire season. I seen police walk by smokers, and people walking through the midways with cigs. Many people smoking near or next to an employee of CP. I think most CP employees might fear verbal abuse from trying to lay the rules down.

Maverick was down at least 3 times for riders doing something (hats, cameras) while on the ride.

We rode TTD 4 times and never experience any down time.

The Soak City parking lot was "empty", with hardly any guests in the lot, and Breakers had an empty parking lot by noon (From check-out I guess). But the main parking lot was 3/4th full, or as busy as any summer day like I said.

I got to see Top Thrill Ryan running TTD and he was a good ride operator. He said push down on to the muscular part of your thighs....not just push down on to your thighs.

Out of every ride operator he seemed the most attentative to rider safety. Strongly emphasizing the loose article policy, among other things.

I seen a cell phone on the return part of TTD under the track...looked in good condition too.

I also seen a a costume wig I assume under TTD's return also.

I think a frat house were part of the Ride Pride because half the ride prides had a EOA or something Greek sweater on.

I have to say I never noticed as many things under $5 for food though.

Brat and chips for $5, Hotdog and chips (massive beef hot dog) for $4.69. Pizza by the slice (large slice) Pepperoni for $4.49, and cheese for $4.29. A small pop was $3.61.
We ate some pizza and it wasn't too bad.

Sundays can be a great day or they can be an average summer day for ride waits in my opinion.

I still think that a sign should be implemented to show the ride waits. I think people would distribute themselves properly through the park then.

If you don't like having a numb face try and not ride first row for everything.

Very concise trip report... Grammar skills were a bit concise as well, but I won't go into the details there.

Fraternities and Sororities commonly use the Ride Pride program as a fund raiser.

I would also be ok with never seeing the words "Massive Beef Hot Dog" in a TR ever again. Something about the words "massive beef" make me strangely uncomfortable.

I was debating on doing a trip report, but you pretty much covered the details. TTD, MF, Maverick all had waits, other rides were walk-ons.

But my fun was Joe Cool before 10:00am, they opened TTD 15 minutes early. My son and I got 3 rides in from 9:45 to 10:05.

We got on the third train of the day, the 1st train went over slowly, but didn't look like a roll back was possible, the second train flew over the top.

Our fun came, third train, we were chatting with the people in front of us whether they have had a roll-back or not, they said no not yet, we haven't had one either.

We were trying to figure out how to slow the train to get a roll-back, Hold our hands out flat, use our hoodies as parachutes, whatever we could think of.

Then the Launch. Up up up, slower, slower, slower, then we creeped up to the top, and ...

well, we slowed way down, I think we even stopped for about 1 second up there. I was able to look straight down to the left of the train, we all commented on the nice view up there, while still up there....

then... the car creeped forward, we all went "AW :(" , No rollback today, but too stop for such a long time up top, with the possiblity of the car going either way was "awesome".

Cool, 3 rides in 15 minutes on TTD, no breakdowns.

-Most of the day was what I would call a two ride day, we were there, at that ride, so you might as well go on it twice, no wait.

We hit Demon Drop 5 times today. Raptor 2x's, Magnum 2x's - Mean Streak 2x's.

All-in-all a good day at the park (spent $2.11) I needed a candy bar, and so did my son.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Did anyone see the new signs affixed to the underpass as you enter/exit the park by Magnum? They really are a nice touch..

EDIT: Demon Drop seemed smoother to comparable years.

What do the signs say/advertise?

^ Cedar Point at the entrance side with "have a nice (great?) day placed underneath it. Very Colorful

I think the other side said Thanks for visiting... I should have gotten a photo. I was running full stride when I came in and left... so I'm not exactly sure.

My girlfriend and I were talking about that as well.

She swore it was there before saying "look its faded a little, and theres cob-webs on it".

We were there 3 weeks earlier so I know it wasn't there then.

Its on that bridge by the breakers entrance.

As for the smoking, yes a lot of people were everywhere smoking, a lot of butts (is that right), were not even being swept up.

But two times I was impressed. . .

I was walking under the Skull of Fright Zone going towards MF, a Police/Securty person walked up to a guy smoking a mini cigar, she told him not to go any further until he put the cigar out. The guy looked at her with a angled look, just for a second, then she repeated herself to put it out and told the guy that there were two smoking areas near by and how to get to them, he put the cigar out, and continued on.

The second time I walked near demon drop, and a couple of people were smoking, I shook my head for a second, then I noticed that - that is where a designated smoking area is, and they were all following the rules... :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

I have to say I seen a sweep outside the Maverick that was sweeping up butts.

Magnum had a ride op telling jokes. MF crew was cool as they have been.

^^Where is there a smoking area near Demon Drop? The nearest one would be by Raptor's exit/Midway Market.

I was there sunday, but I didn't hear magnum ride ops telling jokes, though. It was a great day to go, in my opinion. My uncle and parents were there on saturday, the overcrowded day. Me and my boyfriend were about to go in, but it was too much and the overflow lot and grassy areas were filled with cars. We drove around back by mean streak and its line was FULL que!! for MEAN STREAK!

I saw that they were tearing out huge parts from the top of maxair as I rode skyride. There were big half-circles from the area between the orange and blue areas on the ride that were laying and sticking out from the top as well.

The smoking area I know of by Demon drop is around the side of that gift shop up there across from the midway carousel and to the left of the restrooms. It is against the all of that store where the Dracula display sits in the window right behind the tree where the pumpkin heads hang from the branches.

Thirteen years in rides at PKD, then KD in Doswell, VA on multiple rides and everything from Ride Host to Area Supervisor. Now, I am the Department Supervisor of Park Services and proud of it with the best guys in the industry... and the occasional Rides shift to help out.

Well I think we all know it's safe not to go on a Saturday during Halloweekends. I can imagine Sunday being the best. The only problem with Friday is limited ride availability and short hours.

I saw a lot of people smoking at the park on Sunday. The thing that surprised me was that nobody stop them.

I think I have read more about smoking in general on this site than anywhere else. If everyone followed the rules I'm sure this world, including Cedar Point, would be perfect. But, I guess not and thats just how it is.

Out of all my CP visits this summer it was the only superbly acceptable day temperature wise.

Every other time I was there temperatures went in to the 80's and low 90's.

The low-mid 60's was a nice change. *** Edited 10/20/2007 3:04:30 PM UTC by factory81***

Hey thanks for the compliment, I enjoy my job. It's good to read a positive trip report, instead of a negative, it makes me enjoy my job even more.
