1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF...

I think he was being sarcastic S2Kster.
Yes, and he took it WAY too seriously.

It would be pointless for brakes to be up there, it has enough trouble getting up that hill.

Rather than brakes, I think they need some LIM's up there... with sensors near the top of the aproach hill. The sensors can tell the computer if the coaster will have sufficient speed to crest the hill, and if not, it can initiate so the coaster will.

Or, for even more fun, just set the LIM's to max and shoot us down that hill, like a bat outta He## :)

LOL, i kinda had the same idea, there should be at the last 20 feet of the hill going up something to give it an extra push, then have brakes that have you sittin at the top for a few seconds, then something else that pushes you the rest of the way down.

If it's that hard to get a train stuck on the top, could they get it to go down the hill by just pushing it? Or would that be too dangerous for a maintance employee to perform.

Coaster Count: 147

I believe that's how they did get it to come down last year when it got stuck on top of the hill...

It would be illogical (sorry MrScott) to put LIM's or any type of train propulsion device at the top of TTD. One, there is no need for it, the train getting stuck at the top of the hill is rare event. Second, it costs money, and Cedar Point wont spend anything they dont have to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I saved the quicktime slideshow that someone made last year the day after it happened. I would be glad to email it to somoeone who can host. it is of the cleveland cam. in several different stills.. made as a movie.. you can see the train up there though it looks small then you see the elevator at 3 different heights and then the train comes down.. it is not really clear but it tells the story.. pretty neat to save..
