After my first "off-season" from Cedar Point, I was geared up to get back there today! After hitting Kings Island 3 weeks ago, I realized that nothing at that park comes close to the smoothness and the sheer awe of Raptor, the first ride of the year! Although cold, we stuck it out the rest of the day. After Raptor my girlfriend (Christa), a friend of hers (Liz), and myself hit Magnum, about a 15 minute wait and got front seat. And I must say, much much much much smoother this year. After that we hit some of the flat rides and then Mine Ride to get a small thrill, but nothing too intense. Then it was on to which is my favorite woodie I've ever ridden, Mean Streak, and today it didn't disapoint me whatsoever...in fact, I hit it twice! Very smooth and very little creeking. Anybody know if they used trims down the first hill today or not since it was so cold?
Anyways, Gemini was fun, as always, and Christa and I took our first journey down the Turbo Drop of Power Tower, and we loved it! Mantis seemed in mid-season form today also, a great ride IMO. As the night came to a close, we hit Millennium Force for the 1st time of the season. What a rush! Nothing comparable to that drop on the planet IMO! Well, anyways, that's my trip to Opening Day at Cedar Point. Right now I am hoarse and my throat kills due to all the screaming and yelling, so I'm going to bed. I'll be looking foreward to posting many a posts similar to this one throughout the year. Again...simply awesome to "Get to the Po!nt"
