I had a customer at my job come in this week and say that she had gone to CP last Saturday. She said that she couldn't believe the rip-off prices at CP (all around reference to prices). I told her, it is what the market will bear, and I asked her if she bought pop and she said she did. Okay, you made the decision, deal with it. Sorry, couldn't feel sorry for her. :)
If they raise it to $4, I am pretty sure people will still buy the pop while standing in line on a hot day. Again, what the market will bear...
BTW, cost here in MI for a 20 oz Pepsi is about .77/bottle, although being Cedar Fair, it may be cheaper for being a bigger corporation and buying more than 2-3 cases at a time (that is the price we pay to fill our 20 oz machine).
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
Believe it or not the prices at the vending machine at Breakers Express are more expensive than the ones in the park. My wife and I had a serious chocolate craving this past Saturday. We went to the machines by Magnum. Most of the chocolate was $1 but the machine wasn't taking bills. The machine at Breakers Express had the same chocolate for $1.25. I believe the drinks were also $3.50 at the hotel.
I could be wrong, but I believe that Cedar Point gets all there soda from PepsiCo for "free." In return Pepsi gets the advertising on all the machines, cups, menus, brochures, etc.
Well, whaddya know. There is a Candy Mountain.
^^ there is a Meijers grocery store less than 4 miles from Breakers Express on 250. I always go hit that store on the my way to the motel just for that reason. Chocolate bars = $0.60. Last saturday they had buy one, get one free family size bags of Doritos chips :)
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
Just wait... That Wal-Mart on 250 is gonna become a SuperCenter. That's what they did in Livonia (and moved the place, but that's beside the point). The same thing is happening in Commerce, MI; they're adding onto/redoing the old building.
But I still love Meijer. I could be happier about the prices, but they're still a good Michigan business.
Now, the soda prices in the park... are outrageous. That said, people still get thirsty in the summer and thus will pay the $3 or $4 for a 20 oz.
