Im curious though, why would they stick those couple of pieces of track and supports there of all places? It's right on the side of the road, in a spot I would presume far from the actual construction zone, and also a spot that will really not be able to hold much in the long run... I would have guessed the first track would be placed in the R&D parking lot.

I think i know why they put the track there. See nobody really likes Mean Streak... So that means that it will not have a lot of people back by Mean Streak.

You gotta drive to Cleveland every day, I feel bad for you. That's a long drive 5 days a week.

I wouldn't have to drive that far if a certain Sandusky-based amusement park would hire me as their in-house web guy ;)

I was there today (he he lucky me). You can't imagine my suprise when I saw the track from Mean Streak.

I took my own photos, which can be found at: http://www.atlanticrail.com/images/cp

Most I took from the road. You can see all the track and supports. I also took some from the MS line. You can see them unloading the track from a truck.

Nice and big pictures and more to come!

Did anybody notice how little curve there is in the red track? IMO it's for the ascent up a 400+ foot top hat, going 120+ MPH, so it can keep the G's to a minimum....

Great pictures... Thanks for giving those of us over 300miles away from the Point a look of what "building for the future" really is!

That's my favorite coaster colour combo, crimson and a nice bright but not neonic yellow :)

My suspicion is that they're putting those there because the final resting place will be the Soak City lot, but they need that lot open for a week or two more... in the mean time, that area is close to the Soak City lot and is big enough to hold a few loads of track.

I agree with monkey boy there...also though, they may be placing them there for now until all the cars were gone from the lot back there. If the pieces are gone in the morning, they may be moving them right now to the empty lot...wouldn't want to have one of them puppies go through a window while mama and papa cashcow were taking the holy terrors home after a long day of playing in the suds at soak city. Then again, coaster monkey may have hit it on the head there. ;)

Magnum Force..

Having seen them upclose I think there is a little something different about those track pieces. The crossbraces up and down seem larger than normal. It could just be me too.

Wow, that track looks very skinny...but maybe I'm just looking at it funny. Whatever it is, I can't wait! Gosh I love Cedar Point.

Well kids here are my offerings. I left metro Detroit at like 4:30 to go get these. Here they are in their glorious large resolution and file size as I am painfully lazy to shrink them down. Enjoy. http://www.setecx.com/pics/cp82102track/
