Page Views VS. Replies

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but the gap in page views and reponses is amazing. There seems to be many many many more lurkers than posters. There could be a topic with only 7 replies but well over 250 page views, its pretty amazing. How different would the boards be if even half of the lurkers and people who visit actually post.

People don't automatically reply to something you post, they may just not be able to post, not have interest or an opinion on the topic, or may just be checking on the progress of the topic. Not every number is a new person, many are repeat visitors.

Lots of time people either have no interest in replying to the topic, or don't know the answer to a question so they don't post.

Lots of times I look at a thread just to see what its about, sometimes you can't tell what it is all about from the topic (actually lots of times).
