Hey everyone,

I have a hi-res aerial view of cedar point. If anyone would like to see it, click here: http://ecoop.uc.edu/students/oakleysd/cp/cp.htm

It's VERY large. (12.5 MB)

I hope you like it!

I forgot to mention that that picture was taken Spring of 2001. Notice Lighthouse point is just being built.

Oh boy! Now we can all draw our predictions of the layout of the new coaster in Photo Shop ;)

That photo is awesome! Thanks for the link!

Draw a straight line from Troika, over the water area by Chaos that has no outlet ( I suspect this will be filled in), and imagine that as the launch area. There is a much bigger area included in Area 51 that just the former Dodgems plot. That shows the best possible view of future construction...and not just Area 51...hopefully that link never dies.

The shadows (especially w/ MF) are a little bizarre to look at.

What I can see of it is extremely nice, but my tempermental ISP really groans at anything that large... We'll just keep loading and loading and loading (I think I need some Energizer batteries).

lol, yeah, even on my cable connection, it takes it a minute to load up...but definitely worth it!

Man...that parking lot looks so much bigger in that overview than it does in real life!

I'd recommend right clicking on the link and selecting "Save Target As... " (atleast in Internet Explorer) and downloading the picture to view later. This was alot quicker for me and the picture "times out" after a while but that was no problem using download accelerator.

You can also easily zoom in and out using a photo editor other than viewing it in your browser.

For some reason when I try to view the picture in IE it is very choppy and I do not see the picture. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help on this would be greatly appriciated.

IE can resize the picture to fit the viewing area. Perhaps that is causing some artifacts in the picture. Turn that feature off using the pop up tool bar (IE6), and the picture will be full size and probably look better.

I have that option turned off already. I am thinking that this may be something more than just that. Thanks for your help though.

Excellent. :)

Seth, I'm guessing your occupation has something to do with acquiring this photograph. ;)

Oh yes, anyone notice one of the MF trains on the helix before the island overbanked turn. :)

Well, my occupation will be as an architect, as soon as I get out of school. To get out of school, I must complete a senior design thesis, which is a roller-coaster interactive science museum for Battery Park in Sandusky. Researching Battery Park led me to the tax auditor's office, where I bought the CD with the 600MB aerial photograph of Erie County on it. I exported the view with Cedar Point on it and posted it for all to enjoy!
