The differences aren't amazing, but I'd say that the consensus for this year is red train best, then yellow, then blue.

Good thing you put "Millennium Force" in your topic name, or else we might not have known which coaster you were talking about!

Well acording to a ride-op, the yellow train has run at 108 MPH, while the other two only go 99 MPH. So, the yellow train is the fastest.

You heard it right folks, yellow goes 108 MPH. See you should trust everything employee's say, they don't lie and always know what they are talking about.

Since I am not an employee you can count my opinion as garbage but yellow and red are the fastest comming in around 60-61 seconds followed last by blue. Blue only comes in a second or two behind so you really can't tell that much of a difference.

Regardless of which is fastest Red was making a hideous noise at the top of the hill today...sounded like the elevator lift was giving it a little indigestion or something...

I don't understand how any one train could be faster than another. They're built exactly the same, except for the color!

Yes, but some might have been run more often. Also, they might have intended to build them all exactly the same, but parts do vary in size and quality, they might have been serviced or lubercated slightly differently, etc..

The condition of the wheels and springs can make a huge difference in the ride. I mentioned that my first ride this year the guide wheel springs were in poor condition, causing all kinds of shuffling. I don't doubt that a great deal of energy is lost in all that shuffling.

That sound is (at least I think) the anti-rollbacks not disengaging. Maybe someone else can explain the tech behind it or pull up an old thread... the yellow train made the same noise in 2000. I kept having to explain to people in line that it was nothing to worry about - they were freaked when they heard the noise!

Rode the red train twice today and no noises on the lift (or anywhere else). Yellow looked slow today, especially on the last overbank before the brakes. Blue seemed a little faster than yellow, with red flying through the last overbank.

Here is the closest one I can find about the anti-rollbacks. There might be more, but I don't have time to check.
