Black Out

So... after my daughter went down the first hill... things got a bit black for her. Should she ride it again? She thought it was because she ate only 20 minutes earlier and ran from Johnny Rocket's to MF. I'm scared (kinda)...she said it was like going from a bright sunny space into a room...and your eyes haven't adjusted yet. She said it only happened for a second or two and then she was fine. What'cha all think about that?!?!?!

I black out on roller coasters sometimes. I don't take it to be a big deal though. Sometimes the g's and everythign are too much and I just black out. The feact she ran all the way there and she ate right before might not help her out either.

I also think the eating and running before riding might have something to do with it. I'd let her try one more time (if she wants to). If it happens again, I might reconsider.

Hehe the tunnels. Actually it happens to me sometimes as well as other people on here I think, coming around after the first turn usually does it.

If I don't black out it's not a good ride. ;)

I have that happen to me too. I found it helps a bit if you tense up your leg muscles a bit right before you get to the bottom of the first hill and through the curve.

Yep, that is just those G's doing their work on her. They affect different people differently. I do get it sometimes after the first drop just as it is going into the inverted upwards first turn. The experience is kind of like a head-rush. Gives you that "Wow, what a buzz!" feeling. ;)

I sometimes get that sensation in Corkscrew's loop, but I can't think of anywhere else I've experianced it.

OHMYGOSH... I didn't know this happened to so many people!!! ::jeesh!!!:: Glad to hear it's just a "thing!" But does it happen on many coaster or just the MF? Is it the "brain injury" thing going on like they are trying to prove about "giga-coasters?"

I black out on Corkscrew, if in the back car, just as much as MF.

Sort of, but don't get too worried about it.

Basically what happens is that for a few seconds the blood rushed out of your head making you black out. It's a very common roller coaster issue, and I kind of like it. I would not worry about your daughter in the least bit, and Millennium Force actually isn't too bad. If you want something to complain about go on Two-Face or Invertigo and see what I mean. So again, there is nothing wrong with your daughter, and have her ride to her little heart's delight!
