Causeway Shot from Commercial

When I first saw the causeway shot at the end of the CP commercial, I drooled and wanted that shot for my wallpaper. The wallpaper I currently had was the one of MF that was on the CP home until they made the changes to WT.

I was checking on the CP site today, and lo and behold there was that causeway shot from the commercial on the home page!

It's now gracing my computer at work.

Where did you find it? Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't appear to be there now.

You have to keep reloading the homepage...they have many pictures show up like on this site's homepage.

CUATCP, if you were offering to send the pic to someone, your post could have been deleted. Since this would be a copyrighted pic, it's illegal to offer it, even for free.

It would be nice if CP would offer this shot as wallpaper. Taking the small picture and stretching it to fit as wallpaper makes it rather fuzzy looking.

I think using it for personal use as wallpaper would be fine. Posting it to a website where others can see it is illegal, even if you note that it's from CP's site. So yes, I'd remove it.

At my web site, all it is is a little picture of The Causeway shot and under it says, "I wish I was here right now." Is that sitll illegal, because I don't think it is really hurting anything being there. Also my site is just a little personal one with shouts out to my friends and a bunch of inside jokes. So I really do not consider this copying it and saying that it is my own. It's not like I am running a site like this one (for CP lovers) and saying, "Come look at my Cedar Point pictures."

I think the question is whether this would be considered for your own personal, non-commercial use. I'm not an attorney, but I think you'd be OK here.

If you had a friend who was a tightrope walker and one day you are walking down the street with him and he suddenly tripped & fell, that would be completely unacceptable.

Yeah, I think you're fine as long as you're not asking for payment to view the picture...not that CP does either, but to have that pic show up on their site may require many clicks on the refresh button.
