What do think will happen to the MF webcam when the park opens. I would think they would put it somewhere else, were you can see the entire park. Any thoughts?

They could put it on EBay. I don't know if it will stay up.

I hop they put it on top of the Power Tower so we can see a view of the entire park.

I wonder if they could work out a way to mount it on the Space Spiral cabin. Then you'd have an ever-changing view of the park....
The slip rings might be a problem, tho...

I wonder... there is a phone in there, and that seems to be how they're connecting the thing.

Yes, but you can't tie up the ride phone...I realize that this isn't PKI where the ride ops are CONSTANTLY on the phone, but believe it or not, CP ride ops do use the phone from time to time... :)
The problem, of course, is the rotation. That's usually handled with a commutator ring. Because every conductor between the cabin and the ride would need its own commutator ring (power, phone) it is doubtful that there is an extra pair in there for another data source.
On the other hand, X-10 keeps sending me email about a wireless color video camera; I suppose one of those connected to the cabin electrical would be able to send a signal back to the elevator assembly without too much trouble, then the webcam encoder could use that signal.....

One good idea for it would be to post current pics on the web site that way people who live within a 50 mi. area of the park would know how the weather is and how crouded the park is. Then you could decide on whether or not you want to go on that particular day. ( as a season pass holder I would love to have this service avalible to me)

Why go through all the trouble of mounting it on the Spiral, when you could easily attach it to the top and rear of Demon Drop. Sure, it's not as high as the Spiral, but you would be able to get a nice view of the CP skyline.
For those with more time and talent, a motor could be added to the base (of the camera, not the Drop) so the camera could be panned at times by CP for specific views. [ie: channel 3's skycam, for you Clevelanders]

Multiple webcam views would be cool! Wireless even better, how about one on the paddleboat, one on the top of PT, and another at the front gate so us season pass holders can see the crowds on any givin day. :)

It would be off the hook if they put all the photos that was taken of the Force and but it into a slide show

If they are gonna put some kind of camera up they should get one of those 360 degree cameras and have it set up like this: http://www.nhl.com/allstar2000/dodgepixcenter.htm
