2027 Changes

Starting a thread where we can collectively discuss changes coming to the park and/or the chain (that directly impacts CP).

I'm personally happy to see a potential change happening with All-Season Fast Lane Plus. It's $1,999, and it looks as if other parks in the "Midwest Region" (if that will still be a thing) cannot use their All-Season Fast Lane Plus at Cedar Point. This one, however, is valid at the other parks.

Since this morning they have removed the info about Fast Lane, but you can see the Dining Plan changes.

That's pretty crazy high, but maybe not entirely unreasonable. I've done a VIP tour at WDW for a day, and it worked out to like a grand per person, for one day.

I am mostly interested in the pass pricing for 2027. If they continue with the $99 Gold pass then nothing else they do will have a large effect, at least from and attendance (and clientele) standpoint. We are not dining plan power users, between our 20 or so visits spread over CP and KI we usually consume around 35 meals. The dining plan change that affects us the most is the home park restriction. Not likely a dealbreaker.

As I stated in the C'Buzz thread, I would like to see the Gold Pass at least $149, and the Prestige Pass stay at the current $325. If they insist on selling a $99 pass, make it the Silver Pass.

For the season pass stuff, I am not sure what I plan to do right now. I live closer to Kings Island, but spend more time (thanks to family) at Cedar Point.

I'm looking at going to Texas in 2027, but I need to know how about how to work that into my plan. I don't expect a deal like the one this year.

Right now, I'm more interested in new rides for 2027. And we need new flats. The last flat rides were added in 2014.

I can see up to 4 flat rides being added, all from Zamperla: Endeavor, Barrels of Fun, Octopus, and either a Nebulaz or an Air Race. The first two already exist at KI, and they make sense here as well. They would be located in the Scrambler and Matterhorn's old spots. Octopus is a Monster replacement. The fourth option is unlikely, though, since it means getting rid of that precious 3 point challenge.

Of course I wouldn't be surprised if all we got was the Monster replacement, or perhaps just another restroom renovation and maybe a redo of Point Plaza. Hey, maybe that AI slop can get a nicer display!

My WDW annual pass works out to $75/month. CP is open for effectively four months. I'm not saying it has to be $300 (I do get four parks, after all), but even half of that would be ideal.

We're just simply not even in the conversation. We visit CP every year, but it's for a max of about 4-5 days. What we have done the past few years is pick one day to do FL+ during our stay, and that's good enough for us. We've just done anything and everything so much it's awesome to have "FL" for at least one day, but beyond that we're all just happy to be there. I just like that they are doing something to curtail FL+ saturation.

Not sure if the price will remain $2,000, but it does close the ridiculous loophole where people could purchase the all-season FL at a park not crazy far away for a 50% discount and then use it at Cedar Point, which is pretty much the only park in the chain where FL really matters (in our "region").

$75/month for all-year at WDW sounds beyond reasonable.

People are so interesting about what they place value on. One spends about the price of a CP season pass to Cedar Point eating out just once (say, a family of 4), and yet there are still complaints. A baseline, "economy" 4-5 day package to Disney is 7-8 thousand.

Being from Ohio I probably forget/take-for-granted it's only open 6 months out of the year (May-October).

^ This is exactly our take on CP in recent years. We visit 10-15 times a year, and have done everything in the park multiple times, so we are all about the atmosphere and not cranking out ride after ride. We have Prestige passes, so with the single use FL+ we can pick one the major rides to line skip, and other than that we are content with riding what we can that has minimal waits.

Give me a flat ride or two to fill in the blank edges of the map, and then a log flume, and call it an offseason.

If it does come to pass, ~$2,000 seems about right. It "feels like" FLP should be around $200/day, and if you're someone considering all season FL, you're probably also someone quasi-local who comes to the park a fair bit more than 10 times a year.

I know nothing is official until it's official, but their apparent reconsidering of the value proposition is a good sign. Season passes have been way too cheap the last 6 years, IMO.

I've been very proud of them, because the last few times I was there the daily was $249, $279, etc. I've been preaching forever that the daily price has always been way too low. It's been a noticeable difference since they raised it, better for both sides.

Not a change, per se, but it's neat to see the Park President doing something fun (and hilarious, in my opinion), but also very genuine.

Anyone else take that as a major hint?

Jordan's work this year has elevated Cedar Point's social marketing. He's doing great work.

And no, this is not teasing Mine Ride's removal.

I assume the major hint you're referring to is the addition of a second, dueling mine ride. What's better than a Cedar Creek Mine Ride? Two of them.

Yes. That all the enthusiasts who predict Mine Ride is the next to go will not get their wish as long as Colleen is in charge at the park.

Well the rumored increase to all-season Fast Lane is confirmed. The Prestige pass is a pretty good deal though and it includes the drink plan now, along with all-park access without the silly add-on.

I hit CP last night for the first time since renewing for 2027, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a third Single-Use Fast Lane added to my Prestige Pass. I'm going back today to see if it’s a permanent perk or just a one-time bonus.

A few thoughts on the updated 2027 passes and pricing.

I am happy about the loophole that allowed people to get a FL+ at CP for $35.00 per month vs. the $1,000 anyone with a Cedar Point pass had to pay this season being closed. Unfortunately the loop hole appears to not be fully closed until this time next season. Anyone who bought a "membership" at another Six Flags park still gets the CP all season FL+ for their initial 12 months. So those who bought the memberships at Six Flags Bankrupt over Georgia or Six Flags Can't make a dime over Illinois get to pay $35 per month for their CP FL+ until early August of 2027 when their initial 12-month memberships expire.

The other item I find to be rather strange is that if I did not have a dining plan this season I could immediately start using the Ultimate plan and get meals every 2-hours on visits this season. But, since I already have a dining plan I only get 2 per day 4 hours apart. Normally when you "upgrade" something the upgraded version is available immediately. Either way I personally like the structure of the new Ultimate Dining plan and find good value in it but I also understand if you haven't been to the park 30 times so far this season that plan probably isn't a good fit for ya!

I'm not sure how the tiered price structure is going to play out for the Prestige Passes in terms of "overcrowding" at Cedar Point. Six Flags Over Georgia appears to have the lowest base Prestige Pass price at $189. With park perks being limited to your home park and the only way to get any dining at Cedar Point is to purchase the Ultimate Dining package at $349 I am not sure a huge number of people will be buying Prestige Passes at other parks when Cedar Point is truly their home park to try and save a few bucks. Since they were giving away Prestige Passes last year for around $100 at other parks I can't imagine any scenario where next year is worse than this year in this category - unless Six Flags pulls the same thing with an MVP sale during the off season.

I do have several complaints about some things at Cedar Point this season as well as the new pass and add-on pricing and structure. That being said, overall my family and I have had a great time at Cedar Point so far this season and I did renew our passes along with the Ultimate and dining and perhaps a really bad decision - the all season fast lanes as well. That one was hard to do and I already have a touch of buyers remorse on it but we shall see how I feel next season.

Great America was $165/month for the Fast Lane membership when it came out earlier this year.
