Is what they say really true?  I am going on labor day weekend and am wondering if it is as empty as people say it is..

I'm going to CP too on Labor Day if I can get off work. A friend told me that when they went on Labor Day last year, Millennium Force was a walk on, as were most of the other rides. However, crowds are unpredictable. Most kids will be in school/college by then, so let's hope for the best!

Labor day itself is usually dead..the weekend itself may be a different story

The weekend is on the empty side... A been going on Labor Day for the last about 5 years and for example Raptor's line has never been over 30 mins.

Weather is a factor, but the last few years Saturday's weather was fine and still small lines.

Not counting '98 I always have great labor days at the point.  Like everything else the weather does play a very important role.

My parents and I are going to CP on August 30 (Thurs. before Labor Day weekend) Does anyone think it'll be crowded w/ people wanting to avoid going on the holiday? Just wondering, because I'm looking forward to a slow day so I can jam as much rides in as possible! I have never managed to be able to go on a really slow day yet... :(

GuruChik, let me put it this way... the park wouldn't be crowed at all. I would say walk-ons for almost every ride. I would said the longest you will wait is about 30 mins at the most.

Friday I expect will be a little but more crowed than Thursday, but you really won't be able to tell. I would say the longest wait will be 30 mins during the day and maybe around 35-40 mins after starlight starts.

GuruChik: I was at Cedar Point today and there were close to no lines on the major coasters. We got there at 10 and rode everything at least once, some things twice, by 4:00. Millennium was only about a half hour wait for the majority of the day, Mantis and Magnum were walk ons, Raptor was 15 minutes, and, interestingly enough, Mean Streak was a half hour wait. Weird. But anyways, there weren't many people there, and hopefully there won't be very many on Thursday either.

Last year on the Sunday before Labor Day I was at the Park and it was PACKED!! every ride was at least an hour wait and MF was 2.5 hours. Being there from noon til close we rode 7 coasters. I don't consider that to be a dead time at the park.

Thanks for the info guys!!! I am so excited, just like a little kid! I was already there once this season with my friends, but that was in July and it was kinda crowded. That was my first time on MF, and we waited about 1 hour and 45 min! So we only got 2 rides in- one in morning and one at night (which was absolutely sweet!!!)  Does anyone know if they close the MF line earlier than park closing time?  I seem to remember a worker at the park last time saying that they close it early when it looks like there are already so many people in line.
