2020/COVID-19 Opening Day! Who will be there?

TwistedCircuits's avatar

Good morning y'all!

As of approximately 10:30 this morning Cedar Point posted their there reservation system went live here: https://mobile.twitter.com/cedarpoint/status/1277580679849693184?p=v

Be curious to get a who's who of the PB community that will be there and maybe plan a social distanced meet up if anyone is interested?

I for one will be there, got my 1000 reservation as soon as I saw the tweet.

Have a great day and see you, at the point!

After 24 consecutive 'opening days', I guess it's time to miss one. I don't foresee going to CP at all this season. I enjoy the evening hours there, the park seems to come alive, in a different way, at sunset and later. I can wait until 2021.

I'll be reading all the PointBuzzers reports and constantly watching (as I do now) the webcams. Take pictures and post them somewhere. I don't do any of the social media sites, I don't have a smartphone. So I'll only be able to look for pictures thru my desktop.

As far as opening day is concerned, I'm rather excited, even if there's a pandemic. I wonder how the park will be different.

I figured if its going to be a once in a lifetime opening day, I better make it my first opening day.

If worse come to worse I am a pass-holder to I can jump ship and come back another day. But I don't think its going to be horrible, the park has done a lot in a short amount of time and I think it will pay off.

I mean I was a platinum pass holder, but I downgraded to gold. I have the voucher, so I'm trying to find a way to redeem it.

Skyhawk I believe this should answer your question.

Hoping to see some reports. Even though I'm not going, I'll be there riding with you in spirit in your posts.

Couldn't make it for opening day but we'll be there Saturday and I can't wait! Hope everyone has a fun and safe day tomorrow though and I can't wait to see how things go!

Did see they're calling for rain and storms over the weekend so hopefully that blows over CP!

So here we are, opening day, and from what ive seen so far, there are a lot of people not social distancing, and quite a few people wearing their masks but not covering their nose. Smh. Ive had to tell a few people to back up off me.

That's interesting... are people on top of each other in queue lines or something? I was really impressed by the crowd at Kings Island last weekend. Even in scorching heat, I didn't see a single issue with people covering their noses and mouths with the masks.

I've seen a number of people here who aren't following the rules to a T for certain.

In lines it's seemed decent to me so far. But the pre open line had some issues and walking around the relatively calm Midway's a number of people have taken their masks off until their around people again. Only time mine has come down other than eating is when I get water and I try and find a cool shady spot off the main path to sit when I do that.

I wonder if cedar point pulls in a more diverse and subsequently opinionated crowd than KI?

Still haven't been able to uncross these circuits...

Its real bad in the lines. The stand here stickers are being ignored for the most part, associates aren't enforcing it at all. And tons of people in line removing masks, and or wearing them below the nostrils. Ive had to ask multiple times for people to maintain distance.

Sad thing is there are quite a few employees wearing them just like that. I called them out, they say "oh sorry" put it back on correctly, then do it again a few mins later.
