First Street Closed

When in town this past weekend, I noticed that first street was closed. Is it due to flooding, or construction? Doesn’t make a difference to me, but was just wondering.

Not cool about the flooding. Thanks for the info. Hopefully no damages to the homes & businesses in that area.

No significant damage that Ive heard of. The park had to make some dock platform extensions for the marina so you could get to your boat without walking through ankle deep water. The marina parking lot is probably 30-40% under water and there are sandbags protecting the HR building. Cant even count how many times water has gotten into the marina office and store along with Famous Daves.

Just asking....does anyone know if First street is still closed, or still flooded over. Planning on heading to the park on Friday and wanted to check.

Last visit, we actually turned around and found an alternate way because the road was underwater.

Thanks for any updates!

As of 5:00pm Thursday 1st St. still had the detour signs stating no thru traffic/open to local businesses.

If coming from the west, for example from intersection of Rt.4 & Columbus, just take E.Monroe (which becomes 1st St.) to Warren (which is Rt. 6) and enter at the Causeway by Thirsty Pony.

Or, take Scott St. (which becomes 5th St.) which leads you to the intersection where DQ, Mcdonalds, & Fire Station is. Either of these routes amount to about a 3 minute delay or so.
