Cedar Point Gate ticket price increased

I saw on Facebook today that the gate ticket prices were increased this year. Does anyone think that will impact the crowds this year? I personally don't think I will at all but wanted to hear what others think about this.

The crowds will go up because of Steel Vengeance, the gate price doesn't matter.

It’s safe to assume that’s not the only price increases coming this season with SV’s arrival.
Food and beverages likely will go up as well, along with FLs.

But in comparison CP does offer rather good value with other entertainment options. Especially if you pay attention and take advantage of the available offers.

So, what do you think it will do to season pass prices at the end of the 2018 season...for 2019 passes?

We always get passes early for the following season...the earlier you get passes, it"s the cheapest option for the following season.

Any thoughts?

Instead of 1/2 a sandwich this year at Chickies & Pete’s on the meal plan I expect a 1/4 sandwich.

Trump Economy. Almost everyone is winning, we just have to keep inflation in check.

I could care less about any CP prices. I wish platinum passes were $1,000 and cokes were $20. Not that I'd pay it but would make the lines shorter!

That's also the walk up price with no discounts applied. If you're paying that in 2018 you're doing life wrong.

I know these are past sales but during Presidents Day they offered a B1G1 sale. So essentially $36 each for a ticket. Also I believe their holiday sale was an all inclusive ticket (parking, admission, FL+, dining, drinks and funpix) for $99/ea. A steal if you can only go once or twice a season.

Yesterday on Facebook I saw them advertising $45 tickets online good any day of the season.

I love seeing people freak out about price increases when there are tons of options for avoiding that price. The park literally throws discounts at you if you follow them on social media platforms where they advertise.

Also for NE Ohio citizens, you can always get a cheaper ticket at Drug Mart. And you can really score a great deal with AAA and there's always a paper coupon you can take to window at park that's in effect til Father's Day I believe. Only need to be a little bit savvy to find a deal.

Best pricing is still at cedarpoint.com. If you’re a resort guest, it’s cheaper to buy three day tickets through the resort. One or two day tickets are still cheaper on the website, at least for now. Anything over 3 days, get a season pass.

What incredible foresight CP had to anticipate the election outcome. And to think, had the election gone the other way, we wouldn't have Steel Vengeance!

But if you wouldn't pay it, then what good would the short lines be if you weren't there?

You know that the economy has been trending up for eight years, right?

Work in automotive...got my review on Wednesday. Raise % was lower than the raises I received during any of the Obama years...bonus was the same. But, I did receive raises every year since Obama became president, including this year. Now to see how Trump's tariffs affect American car prices since those tariffs won't apply to imported vehicles.

Also, as far as the Trump tax cuts go, if your check is larger, you might want to calculate what your federal taxes are going to be and figure out if they are withholding enough. Fortunately, an article I found showed that based on my being single and making what I earn, instead of only owing $100 in April of 2019, I would actually owe $1,000. So, while the overall tax bill per person might go down, they might not be withholding enough from your check and you might be in for a little shock come tax time next year.

And that has what to do with the CP Gate price increase?

Maybe the Trump tax cuts will allow him to buy a ticket? :)
