You're selling those folks short, ddogg. While the group couldn't have done 100 on another coaster, attributing the success to "one reason" just ain't right.
I'm not sure of exact numbers, but roughly 2/3 of those who started dropped out at some point. So it was a success because those who finished had the endurance to do so.
Something like that doesn't just happen when a bunch of people show up at the park one day and say "Let's do it". So it was a success because of the planning that went into it.
My understanding is that as the day went on, the ride ops got into the quest and kept the spirits of the riders up through the grueling 70's and 80's. So it was a success in part because of the ops.
I applaud the folks who did the G-100, mainly because I don't think I'd have the stamina to finish. Capacity? Yep, it's a requirement, but only one of many (and several that I didn't list here)
