It is called Ticket To Ride and it will not be used this year because of how it bombed last year.

If the queue line for Millennium Force was full, you were handed a ticket if you wanted to get in line. This ticket had a special riding time on it (i.e., 4:00-5:00), so if you wanted to ride MF you had to come back at that certain time to ride.

Ah, that sounds like it would have bombed no matter what. It was probably too Chaotic, leave that to Chaos.

The really telling comment was what Janice Witherow told Amusement Business when she said, essentially, that they tried a ticketing system for Millennium Force last year, that it worked well for them and was such a big success that they are not using it this season.

Sounds like a huge success if it was so successful that they aren't using it anymore...!

This is odd. At Disney, they use FastPass and it's fantastic. The best way to manage crowds and who wants to stand in line all day. But, no one has really stated why CP did away with the Ticket to Ride. *** This post was edited by Bob C on 6/21/2001. ***

Yes but the rides at Disney come specially equipped with Fast Pass queues, so that they don't crowd the regular line when it's your time.

Just so everyone knows, the FastPass has been discussed here for many moons. We know that it is well implemented at Disney and Universal parks, but Cedar Point did not implement it well last year on Millennium Force. We would love to have a system that works as well as the ones at Disney parks, but Cedar Point has to spend the time and money to get it right before we will like it at The Point.
