Haunts in the summer

So obviously the outdoor haunts are dismantled and stored for the summer, but what happens to all the indoor ones that will return the following year? Do they remain as they are during halloweekends or taken apart as well?

The indoor houses are left alone, nothing is really done to them.

What are the operational costs for running the indoor haunts?

Would there ever be a large enough demand to justify running one of them all year?

I've always wanted a year-round haunt at the park. Heck, I would even go for a dark ride similar to the Haunted Mansion or Kings Island's now defunct Phantom Theater. (But please, not Boo Blasters on Boo Hill!) Anyways, I think it would be a cool experience and would get a lot of attention, especially at night. If it was a dark ride haunted house, I would want it to be in the old PR or Colesium buildings or somewhere new in Frontier Land (possibly remove some of Challenge Park for it). But, if it was a HalloWeekends haunt to remain open all year round, then Erie Estate, because it fits in the best with the Haunted House feel, and ties in some park history too (G.A. Beockling and Lake Erie) which would actually be a cool theme for a haunted indoor thrill/dark ride.

Speaking of haunts, "Next year, be on the look out for more new additions to HalloWeekends. It'll be meatier than ever!"

Slaughterhouse?

This character was wandering the park a couple weeks ago. It also seems to hint that Slaughterhouse (or a similarly themed haunt) is coming next year:

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

If they ever did summer haunts, I'm hoping air conditioning would be involved. I've heard the houses get a little toasty and that's during 60-70ish degree temps.

Tony Clark also hinted at a Slaughterhouse or butcher shop themed haunt for 2015 in his latest OnPoint blog post from Monday, 11/3: https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Hey-Thanks?mobile=0

@RyanRufe

I wonder if it will go in a spot already occupied by a haunt or take the place where Fear Faire was.

Not saying it will never happen (especially with the growing attendance at year round haunts) but none of the current Haunts at CP could work all summer long without renovation. The staffing needs for the haunts at CP are pretty large and they don't have the same types of throughput and independent operation that most rides and even other walk troughs at other parks have.

But if they wanted to design one front he ground up that could operate all summer long, and add staff and effects to it during Halloweekends, it would be possible.

Or they could do a classic funhouse for the summer and convert it come time for Halloweekends.
