B&M trains for Arrow/Morgan hypercoasters

Now that B&M has come out with new trains designed for older Arrow/Morgan hypercoasters, such as Steel Dragon 2000 in Japan, how does everyone feel about the possibility of these trains being added to Magnum XL 200/Steel Force/Mamba at Cedar Fair properties?

I personally would love to know how it would feel on Magnum XL 200 and to what extent it might change the rider experience. Could this new train design possibly make the bunny hills on the run back to the station actually fun and comfortable....I am think that is a strong possibility.

Magnum's trains are very comfortable, I wouldn't want to see that change. The character of the ride WOULD change, but not for the better.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I love the bumps on Magnum! I think it would take something away from the ride if they made it smoother. It's a different kind of experience.

Do you have a link to pictures of the new trains/seats? I would be interesting in seeing the restraints.

Here is a link to a photo of the lead car on a new train:

Pretty much just like 4-across seating, the only exceptions being a leg/foot guard and seatbelts (which I don't quite understand considering restraints are now on sensors for correct positioning/safety.)

Steel Dragon has the side wheels on the outside I thought. That's why B&M worked.

True Vette, though I am sure if asked an engineer could work around this issue.

I am kind of thinking for Steel Force and Mamba it would give the rider a more "open" experience like Millennium Force, no?

I like Magnums trains just how they are. Sure they can be a little rough, but i think it just adds to the ride experience! I wouldnt change it. Besides, i couldnt imagine having that restraint going across my shins! I think it would take away a lot of airtime on the ride. Just imagine if that bar was there on any of the other B&M hyper trains.

No no, just no. Ride in the middle of any car. Magnum is perfect as it is.

I like Magnum's trains. They are very open and are pretty comfortable. The only think that would make the ride a bit more comfortable is a bit softer padding on the lap bar. I think the Steel Dragon B&M trains would benefit Mamba and Steel Force; the trains feel like a bad knockoff of Magnum's trains.

I can't recall the cause of the car falling off of steel force, but maybe these new trains would better prevent an issue like this occurring again? Any word on how new trains would change capisity and size limits? I think it would be good on magnum if it can cut down on the jerkiness but I think magnum is mostly about the history at this point and new trains would take away from that. Mamba on the other hand is extremely smooth and the seats are great so I see no reason to get rid of them. Plus, you can marathon on weekdays at worlds of fun and those big trains are very good for that. I also really like them because how much airtime you can get with the existing system.. I wouldn't be super opposed to it since there is no historical value to maintain the old trains, but I would much rather see the money go to different things at worlds of fun. The money simply goes farther at wof that cp.

Thanks for the link. I like those restraints. Being a bit of a fat guy those are better for me than the traditional lap bar.

45Wheelgun, the B&M megacoaster restraints are less accommodating than the current Magnum lapbars. The have a red mark on the bar, and as the clamshell approaches the riders lap, if that red mark isn't visibile the rider has to do the walk of shame.

How hard would it be to get a ride restraint system like Milleniums? Those are free for the ride it is. I know they aren't B&M but could they make something similar?

StLCPfan - Thanks, I thought they looked like the restraints on Diamondback which accommodate me quite well.

Because of the seatbelt on MF's trains, they are even less accommodating for guests of exceptional size than the B&M clamshell restraint. 45Wheelgun commented that the B&M restraints looked like they were allowing guests larger than those restricted by the Arrow lap bar to ride. That is not the case due to the safety limit set up on the B&M rides.

Well then 45Wheelgun, if you fit right now you can't be that fat. You find the B&M restraints more accommodating than the Arrow or Morgan hypercoaster restraints?
