Coke Freestyle

I heard that a Coke Freestyle machine will be added near GateKeeper this season, and I hope there will be more of them added throughout the park. These machines are really cool so I wouldn't be surprised to see them being added in other places besides GK's plaza. Has anyone heard if there will be more of them besides the one near GK?

I'm not sure, I'd pry say it'll just be the one this year. Even at Kings Island last year I only remember seeing one.

Raspberry Coke yum yum yum

Good, I'm glad to hear they'll be scattered around. Those are the coolest things.

How will they work that - will they have an attendant selling cups and then you serve yourself ? I believe those machines are the post mix/ bag in a box.

I still hate the switch from Pepsi to Coke. They can easily change my mind if they get Beverley at the point.

The Freestyle machines are cool, but I haven't been able to make Mountain Dew come out of one yet.

I should call Coke and tell them to put Mountain Dew in the machines! Haha

At Canada's Wonderland last year, an employee sold you the cups, and then you helped yourself to the machine. I would assume we'll be doing it the same way.

I doubt it. Probably like the Icee stands. Buy a cup then fill up yourself.

Unless you buy the wristband... I mean, souvenir cup band. Assuming they still offer that this year.

They are post-mix, but not B-I-B. It's more complicated than that, apparently even separating out the sweetener from the highly concentrated flavors, which are blended through a microprocessor controlled micro dosing system right at the fountain discharge port. The flavors are supplied in cartridges that an be swapped out quickly.

Someday the manufacturers will figure out that what we really need are vending machines and dispensers that can be serviced from the back.

I don't have any hard data to back it up, but the vast majority of vending machines I've come across have been up against a wall.

I suppose vending machines at amusement parks could benefit from such a setup though, considering they have the real estate to facilitate it.

^^^ Kings Island Tweeted:

"A new souvenir bottle with unlimited refills day of purchase will be available this year."

I hope the wristband deal is still an option this year.

Freestyle's ok, but there's nothing worse than watching my Firehouse or Five Guys get cold while I wait behind someone who doesn't have a clue what they're doing.

Was this Matt O's decision for these machines? I'm starting to like the new CEO even more :)

I have been wondering, though, but who is the new GM of wildwater kingdom? Didn't Mr. Spehn go back to being the GM this year now that colleen moved to CP?

I wonder how long before these Freestyle machines are common enough that they are not a big deal anymore. As for now, they are awesome though since they are not everywhere yet.

I think only the Five Guys has them in my area. I'm not aware of any others.
