FIRST TIMER! ZILLION QUESTIONS!

Hi all!
Planning our first trip to cp on may 19th and 20th..thats a Saturday and a Sunday.
Question #1--- How bad will the crowds be on each given day? I am traveling with a 10yr old 8yr old and a 2yr old....and of course the hubby. This leads me to Question #2---The baby swap option? How exactly does this work? Is it worth the aggrivation? I was dissapointed with Disneys baby-swap....ended up waiting just as long as I would have had I gotten in line myself after the hubby and kids came off.
Question#3--- We are stayin at Breakers,,,did I make a good choice?
Any hints or tips or advice you all could give me on how to bbest enjoy the park would be greatly appreciated!

Answer 1.) Crowds shouldn't be that bad.

Answer 2.) One parent goes through the line, with the 8yr and the 10yr old, while the other one waits somewhere with the baby. Once the first parent and the children get off of the ride, they hand the ride attendant the parent swap form. They proceed out the exit and switch. One of your children, who just got off of the ride can then ride again with the second parent. Both of them walk up the exit, get the attention of a ride op, of course without going to far onto whatever platform they go up to, and tell the ride attendant their last name and that they are doing the parent swap thing. You should be able to get the forms from the entrance of the ride, but if they don't have them, you can get them at "Park Operations," which is located on the side of the large building next to Kiddy Kingdom. YOU MUST HAVE THE PARENT SWAP FORM WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO THROUGH THE LINE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THE ATTENDANT WHEN YOU GET OFF OF THE RIDE.

Answer 3.) Yes, that is a good choice to stay there. You just walk to the nearest entrance, and your in the park!

1.crowds shouldnt be to bad but you are better off to go on a tuesday or wednesday.

I'm not sure but, were they going to somehow change parent swap? Or was this a different park?

yeah, im going on the 19th too, with my class. i can't wait, first trip of the season. but there will be many more to follow. you will love cedar point kruggie, since it is your first time, it will make it even better. have fun! :)

I'll be there on the 20th. I love parent swap, my sister still is young and I get to ride twice!;)

Shouldn't weekends be the most crowded days? I mean any people in the area come over then.

My major concern with the parent swap revolves around my experienc at Disney with their version of the swap,,,which was the only bum deal I came across down there (I am a disney nut!). I would end up waiting for an hour in line anyway after my husband and older sons came off..it was a raw deal. I am hoping that CP's version isnt as awful...and another question...do I have to obtain a special pass for each ride I wish to swap on? They may as well sell me a whole book of those suckers cause I intend to ride and ride again and maybe even again! I think the parent swap is a fabulous idea if it is done right...Disney needs to work on theirs and all other parks across the nation need to adopt this idea! Kennywood is my home park,,,,no swap...and over the years the crowds there have become way too large for me to enjoy...on a good day my kids will get to ride the good rides once...when I was little...I rode the good rides ten times over.

One parent swap form is all that is needed for all of the rides. The employees are supposed to inital it when you use it on their ride. If you lose one, just ask for another one. Again, every rollercoaster entrance should have tons of them. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Agentstinky! I just look at photos of MF and shake my head and say why? Why would I do such a thing! I am absoulutly terrified! but I can't wait! My husband took one look at the photo on the cover of the guide and said, "I don't think I'll be doing that!" (wimp). I am just hoping I can con one of my kids into getting on with me! It isn't as much fun to be scared to death alone!

In all honesty, most photos of Millennium Force do not do it justice - it's that big! :) The picture on the front of the Getaway Guide is probably the one that comes closest to telling you how big it really is. Tell your husband not to be scared. The ride is engineered to perfection and anyone can handle the ride experience. Magnum (possibly Raptor and Mantis too) is much more intense in terms of forces if you ask me.

Well, the one thing that I cant take alot of is headbanging...If my head gets thrown around too much I end up miserable for the remainder of the day.. The Hubby..well he has a bit of a height problem and I have to admit I have one myself. Power tower will not be on our list of must do's and the both of us pray neither of the kids wish to go on. The hubby will have a bit of a problem with the hill climb on MF. He will get very nervous about half way up and find himself praying for the plunge down. I am okay on the coasters knowing I will come down ...and quickly. Needless to say the big wheel is out too....unless again the kids insist.
I have heard that the suspended coasters have a very smooth ride. Is this true? I hope so! I hate my head banging against the shoulder harness!

OH YEAH,,,I LOVE ALL OF THOSE LITTLE FORCES YOU SPEAK OF!! If I dont feel like I am gonna fall out then feel plasterd to my seat at least half dozen timess.....well it's no fun! The only headbanging I can recall on any of the coasters was on the Corkscrew. Being an older Arrow coaster with OTSR's, it can be a bit jarring in spots, but overall it shouldn't be to bad.

Oh thats good! I am glad! I am so very excited about my trip! Twelve days and counting! And if my luck will have it ....it will surley be freezing cold and probably rain! (This could be good for me as far as crowds go I suppose,,so why should I complain?)!
