What should Cedar Point do to improve the mean Streak or should they just give up?

No, we haven't decided to burn MS down. It looks like I'm going to have to station myself by the ride with a spray bottle of water.

True! They apparently have the larger ones now too, so it should make extinguishing a piece of cake.

Out of curiosity, is this the bridge-burning Intamin guy that Jeff has spoken of?

I believe so.

The New Texas Giant and Steel Rattler look pretty fun.

They do.

So does Outlaw Run, the new woodie coming to Silver Dollar City next year. Since it's going to have a barrel roll, I believe that'd make it the only wood coaster in the world to include an inversion. I'd love to try it out, as I only vaguely remember the loop on Son of Beast.

I would love for them to do the New Texas Giant treatment to it. It would be an awesome ride.

Iron Rattler will also have a inversion.

Another one! Wow, that's fantastic.

Here's the newly released POV for the Iron Rattler if anyone wants to check it out...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMX166sWPjM&feature=relmfu

Would be nice to get people back in line for Mean Streak. Iron Horse track could get many people out of the lines that are huge for some of the other coasters.

Iron Rattler will be a steel coaster, so Outlaw Run will be the only looping woodie.

Wow. At the park yesterday, my buddy Mac and I took a spin on MS, front seat gold train. The ride experience was nearly as agonizing as it used to be. What a let-down.

Clearly Mean Streak is so badly designed (and redesigned), that no amount of rehab will prevent it from quickly tearing itself apart again.

This beautiful monstrosity has to go. TaEr it down.

Have you tried riding while being administered a morphine drip? I've heard through the grapevine that's the way it's really supposed to be ridden.

Barbarella theme music is optional at that point, but would probably actually sound phenomenally trippy.

IV drips are impractical on Dinn and Summers woodies. The excess shimmying tends to knock the needle right out of the arm.

Next time I ride--if there is a next time--I'll consider pre-dosing with Percocet. ;)

Rode Mean Streak in front seat on Tuesday the 28th, got more air time than I remember the last time I rode it a few years ago. But any other seat I can see it really beating you up, it was not the smoothest in the front but it was Ok.

Try keeping your back propped forward next time. I've been doing this for quite some time and haven't had a painful MS experience since. It works so effectively for me that I now really look forward to riding MS each visit. But of course, I still make sure to ride front seat juuuust in case.

Iron Rattler will be a steel coaster, so Outlaw Run will be the only looping woodie

Based on the reviews of the original rattler, it seems two of the most common complaints were that is was "boring" and "rough". Seems familiar, doesn't it? They fixed the rough part by giving it the Texas Giant treatment, and they fixed the boring part by altering the lift hill, increasing speed, removing the helix, and adding over banked turns and barrel rolls.

So let's see, I'm envisioning a fantasy Mean Streak with an 85 degree drop, texas giant tracks, a TRIPLE barrel roll (gotta beat Outlaw run ;)), and some sharp turns and we have ourselves a masterpiece.
