Mean Streak retracking...

ok, so I realize the Mean Streak gets retracked every year...but they only do portions. Why don't they give it a complete overhaul like they did with the Texas Giant? The Blue Streak was retracked this year, does anyone know if they did any work on the Mean Streak this year?
Thanks.

Nothing significant CPcyclone. Just the normal par for the Mean Streak type work as I believe.. I saw a few select boards being cut and she does have a Storage Garage in her infield now...

mf laps = 100! No More No Less!!
Thats right, keep in mind they retracked certain parts of Blue Streak. The same goes with MS I doubt they did anything more than they usually do.

Only if MS had the Millennium Flyer trains!

Don't get me excited Dan!

I've always been a firm believer that MS would be a top 10 ride again if it was maintained as well as texas giant. In my opinion, last year, MS ran smoother than it has in years! True it was slowed down alot. But it actually felt like they put those round wheels back on! LOL. year before that, my friend slipped a disc in his back due to the "flintstone" wheels. The ride has alot of potential. maybe they will find some more grease this year! I did see it greased some last year. it's nice not to hear it squelling! LOL

For the love of God.... please tube mean streak!!
tohot2se: That would completely desrtoy the whole idea of it being a STREAK. All the streaks I know of are wood coasters. MY MY MY that would cost CP some money!

Live for FUN!

GO SHAMROCKS!
GO WOLVERINES!
Put some airtime and/or laterals into the ride otherwise it has NO chance of being a top 10 ride even if it is well maintained!
I disagree PinkFloydFanatic, the first couple years the Mean Streak was in existence it was a top ten coaster and made most top 10 lists. It was actually my favorite coaster for a couple of years (yes, I liked it better than Magnum). Unfortunately it has not aged well. I think it may be the worst coaster at CP now (that trim brake on the first drop has got to go!). I think it needs to be completely re-tracked and it needs new trains. Unfortunately I dont think CP will ever give it the complete overhaul it needs. I think they will build a different woody before they would refurbish MS.
I am not sure if it was the re-tracking, or grease or what...but yesterday, I rode MEAN STREAK many, many times....and I LOVED IT...I usually pass because of roughness...but I found it to be much, MUCH smoother than ever before...and MS is once again, in my top 5 coasters :)

Mean Streak was running pretty nicely on Monday as well. The brake on the drop didn't seem to grip as hard as I remember from last year.
