Pictures of Corkscrew Midway before TTD?

Hey everybody! I've been doing some research lately trying to find pictures of the area that TTD occupies, pre-2003. I can faintly remember what it looked like before 2003, so I'm wondering if anyone has any photos of it or links to pictures of that area/midway before Dragster was constructed. Thanks!

This isn't a picture, but it's Iron Dragon's POV when Iron Dragon was first built. All of the trees are low and you can get a pretty decent view at some points. It is also before Mantis was built as well.

Ah, yes. Back when it was green and quiet in that area. ;) Troika and Chaos all by themselves pretty much.

Thanks alot! Man that's crazy how it pretty much changed one of the most quiet areas of the park with just Troika and Chaos to one of the busiest places in the park.

I had forgotten how much I loved that area once upon a time. I'd almost say I'd rather have forgone Dragster (which really doesn't do much for me) and kept that portion of the park as it was. But that's without factoring in the reduction in lines it creates for all the other coasters I do love.

Wow it's amazing the construction of TTD. I can't imagine the park without it. The white track is so white, it's really faded over the years.

Does anybody know why the launch section alternates between red and white track? I understand if just the launch section was going to have red and white track but the red and white alternating goes halfway up the tower.

The white track in this picture amazes me how bright it is,

I dont believe there is any specific reason. My guess is just a cool paint job.

I thought the reason for the alternating colors was to enhance the feeling of speed on the launch.

I loved that area as well. One of my favorite nighttime traditions was riding Troika Troika Troika. I always kind of liked how the lights on the bottom of your car would shine on the trees as you swung out towards them.

Thank's Walt! I wish I could have seen that area pre-Dragster. Looks like it was a very quiet and tree-filled area.

Is it too late to trade Dodgem I for that rumored spinning restaurant now?

That was such a nice area from what I remember. Trees, a few flats, Paddlewheel nearby.

I'd rather not have TTD and have that area back how it was.

Agreed! The should have put Dragster in the parking lot where the tram used to run. It's a great ride, but like Power Tower and the screen on it's way out it's very ugly.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
