Came here for ideas and help.

Ok, so I have been visiting this site for years and never joined. I need the help of this whole community to answer a question about Millennium Force. If I was sitting on the left side of the front car, do I have enough movement to propose to my girl on the right side? I plan on doing it going up the lift. It's been awhile since I rode so I can't really remember the range of movement. Oh and happy opening day 2011!

Definitely! There is just a z-harness style lap bar, so your whole upper body is free to move. Go for it!

I'm not saying that she'll say no, but I'd at least want to be able to do this in an environment where I'm not...I dunno...strapped into something with no place to slink away if it goes awry.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

dude dont drop the ring, that could be a little expensive.

You may even want to consider tying the ring on a short string, just to be on the safe side.

Hope she says yes!

Well, another way to look at it is that SHE is strapped in and can't get away. It's all a matter of perspective...

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

Sounds good to me, just prepare for the most awkward roller coaster ride of your life if she says no. On the other hand, it will probably be the most awesome ride of your life if she says yes.

AWWWWWWW HOW ROMANTIC!!!! <3
I know some people who don't think this is the best way to propose, but since I am a coaster fanatic it might as well be out of a story book for me.
I wish you the best of luck!

Congrats! :) Hope everything goes well. Too bad you couldn't do it through the tunnel so a picture could be taken. I think you might definitely drop the ring at that high speed though. lol.

Thanks everyone. Pretty sure she will say yes. I love the tunnel idea. But yeah. I would have a tough time with it. Think I will tie it in a piece of sew and my belt loop. Hide it all in my pocket so she don't know. Hehe! Wish I could have a camera mounted facing us... that would rock! Preserve one of the most priceless moments in my life! Thanks again!

If you give it to her while you're on the island, before you get to the camelback, she ought to have a few seconds to react before you hit the camera in the second tunnel...

There was a proposal on Ripcord a couple of years ago. I thought that was a good idea, especially since the whole thing was recorded.

But yah, don't drop that ring!

So a long time ago, I made this original post. Well, I finally got to make a trip up there with her. I opted for Gatekeeper. We went up Thursday May 30th 13. I had it all planned out to propose on GK lift, but got spooked as it was my first time on it. (Awesome ride) So I got her at the pavilion by the exit of the ride! She said yes! Nothing like a small crowd at CP cheering you on! I love that place! Sorry to drag back an old post, but I am really happy I did that!
