Main Midway Improvements

Now we all know they got scrapped for this year... but does that mean that next year it will be tremendous? If the "Boardwalk" does infact take place that will be two major overhauls to the front of the park in one year. That would make things beautiful. What are your thoughts? Do you think that it's possible or have the renovations for the Main Midway been scrapped all together in favor of the "Boardwalk"?

I don't think they would, it's just alot of money to throw away. Just my opnion.

Why did they scrap the main midway plans in the first place? Everyone's said that, but no one's given an explanation WHY?

My thought's exactly. It seemed like a great idea. It needs a good "sprucing" up if you will. Hopefully it will happen next year!

I kind of wonder if they might be saving the money for yet another big cedar point suprise,knowing the point,i can almost count on it,they never seem to fail in the improvement category,in fact,when the rumors that actually turn out to be true this time around start, im going to bet i'll be even doubting them at first.
And as fast as the coaster world is moving,i'm hoping they start building hype for 2002 early.

Maybe Lighthouse Point cost more than they originally anticipated? Or maybe there is a new ride in the works for 2002 that requires CP to hold off on any Midway renovation?

I was thinking about something. Maybe they halted the renovation because the whole renovation would go also with the boardwalk theme. They could change the whole front of the park in one year, instead of over a couple years. I hope this is more along the lines of why they halted the renovation.

Whatever their reasons were, I seriously doubt that cost or money had anything to do with it. CP isn't exactly scraping the bottom of the barrel.
