Best Cedar Point Effect

I think one of the interesting things I have never seen that I thought was a really awesome efect was with Raptor's cobra roll at night.

The bright lights shine up on Raptor's cobra roll at night to show off the awesome track...when seconds before a train flies thru it, the lights dim and a strobelight is triggered to add to the rider's fun. After the train is gone, the strobe light stops and the lights come back to full power.

Anyone notice that? I thought was so cool. I bet that looks cool at night riding the space needle.

Any other cool effects in the park you have noticed?

Isn't that stroblight the On-Ride Photo?

The best effect I have seen is Power Tower at night. I think it's awsome how the lights change so slowly and all the different colors. Also walking under it when it makes that loud noise when the air is being released. I think that's down right cool!!

No, the strobe light is at the cobra roll like I described. The on-ride photo is near the end by the helixes. :)

you know the funny thing? i only notice those strobes when i try to while riding and dont if i dont think about them, but when near there walking i notice them real easy without thinking about it.
And eric,ever noticed how much quieter the power tower seems when riding it compared to when walking by on midway??

I noticed this too...when riding, you don't really notice the strobe lights unless you want to. It's almost cooler just watching it from ground :)

I also think that it is the lighting on the Power Tower. It is so cool just to sit there and watch it for a while. I noticed that it is quitter when your on the ride.And of coure I like the Millennium Force's lights.

The Strobe is definitely nice. I don't know if the following is really an "effect" but the final tunnel, and hill for that matter on the Magnum I would say is the best. All of a sudden it gets dark and you feel the track drop bellow for a surprise that yields some air time. Sure everybody knows about it now, but I still remember when I first rode how astonished I was by this element. It is a great end to a great ride.

Yes, the Rapor cobra roll lights are cool!!

Millennium Force at night. I still say it's one of the most beautiful manmade things I've seen in my lifetime.

I think the MF lights are awesome too. I haven't ridden Raptor at night since last year, and never even noticed any stobe lights.

I love the gentle breeze that comes off the lake at night while sitting up on Power Tower's drop side. The anticipation of dropping is awesome, and once it releases, it's total bliss.

Before I ever saw the strobe lights on Raptor, I read an article on the infotrack at my library. If anyone ever has the time, look it up. It may still be there. (Infotrack is an online perodical site)
