Soak City Locker Price "Adjustment"

Clevelandkid

Our family has gone to Soak City the last two Saturdays. So, this Saturday when I got in line to rent a locker I had $15 ready for the rental. When I got to the counter the girl said it would be $18. Sure enough the sign behind said $8 for the locker and $10 deposit. Wow, a week ago the locker was $5. I paid it of course, it's still less that having someone steal my wallet etc.

That's a big increase percentagewise (that's a new word). I know the price was most likely adjusted to increase the value of the guest experience. I sure felt I got a better locker at $8 than the cheapo $5 locker I rented last week. Funny, it looked the same and was the same size though I'm sure it was a better value. Now they can start 2009 and proudly tell the public that they didn't increase the price of lockers over the winter.

Oh well.

That is why the only things I take into Soak City are old sandals and an old beach towel. That way I don't have to mess with a locker. If they do get "lost" yeah, I'll be upset but I haven't lost anything of real value.

What do you do with your wallet and keys?

Wallet is left in the car (hidden away of course). I never buy anything while in soak city anyway. I always park in the back lot so if I need anything its just a 2 minute walk. Soak City isn't really a full day attraction anyway so at most I'd walk out to the car and back once.

I keep the key itself on me (or in my husband's swim trunks pocket) and leave the remote in the car.

Thanks Krafty. I don't feel comfortable leaving my wallet in the car. My key has the remote built into it, so I don't want to go in the water with that.

Anyway that's a nice sized increase and that's how it's going to be.

Looks like Im going to start walking back and forth to the Magnum lockers from now on. Im not paying a $7 premium to not have to walk 50 ft and leave a t shirt unlocked.

Come on CP, thats ridiculous.

I've always loved my Ford product with the keypad on the door so I can leave my keys and my wallet in the car. I always park right up front in the Soak City lot so I never worry about having my car broken into.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I love that the Magnum lockers tell you not to use them if you're going to Soak City. Don't pay $1, pay $8!
