Top Thrill Dragster uptime

This season has been a bit bumpy for Top Thrill Dragster.

It seemed to be working alright in the beginning of the season, but has anyone notice a lot of trip reports seem to note Top Thrill Dragster down time?

What has your experience been with TTD this year?

I was at the park on June 19th and other than the rain delays TTD ran great!

I have only been to CP twice this year. I have noticed a lot of down time on MF and Maverick. Not so much TTD.

Dont forget that it's summer and heat is one of many factors to how Dragster (as well as other coasters) perform. On every trip for me so far, minus some wind and rain related issues, Dragster has been running great.

Most of the times I've ebbn to the park Dragster has been running great, except for the morning rollbacks but even those aren't that often.

Dragster has been running alright this season, but they were sending trains half empty early in the morning.

^Don't they always do that?

Yes, they do. Apparently if you don't front-load the trains while the ride is warming up, it's more prone to rollbacks. It still doesn't make sense to me, but people have sketched out the physics as to why it's the right thing to do.

Aside from TTD being closed for wind, it's been running pretty well this year.

Didn't someone make a chart for uptime and downtime last year? I remember it but can't remember who.

^That would be Adam (TTD 120MPH). And I went on opening weekend and Dragster ran pretty well considering the weather.

Yeah, I decided last year was the last one since I proved my point (dispite some criticism) with 06 and 07's. Plus nothing BIG can really happen with Dragster in terms of uptime. They pretty much have her figured out and can fix problems before they surface. And hitting a million this year wont be as big an even as last year. So there's no point.

Isn't the front-loading of the trains as simple as ensuring the center of gravity is as close to the front of the train as possible? That would, essentially, "shorten" the trains, which would make them less prone to rollbacks.

Actually I changed the name of it. I named that box magnumxl-200 :) The one I'm on now is named dejavu.

That doesn't make me a nerd, just cool.

TTD is becoming like the older coasters in the park in terms of uptime. The uptime is far better this year than MF or Maverick. 4 out of my 6 trips this summer it was running fully loaded before 10 o'clock. It is great to see that even when its down, they rarely even announce it because they are able to get it up and running quickly.
