I know many people have already said this, but leaning into every change of direction can drastically reduces any jerking on Maverick.

^ Yep. Anticipating the forces and shifting your weight with the train makes alot of headbangers enjoyable. The first time I rode Maverick I had my head all the way back the entire ride and it hurt pretty bad. It's kind of weird at first having to ride rides with technique, but after a while it feels "natural", for lack of a better term.

^^^ I've been signing posts since I started using the internet, it's just something I enjoy doing.

TedFuzz. No longer manually signing posts. Too bad. =(

Then what's the point of your name in your signature, Jeff? Isn't it already above your post?

It would be understandable if he was putting his name after every post AND it was in his signature too. But I digress, back to the topic of being jerky, or was I still on topic?

This past weekend I rode in the blue train on MF during Saturday ERT and thought it was really smooth. Then, during the Sunday ERT I was in the yellow train and it seemed much more violent. The yellow train was taken out of service shortly after I rode on Sunday and remained on the transfer track the rest of the day. Today as I passed by on Perimeter Road at 11:00 a.m., I noticed it was still on the transfer track and the line was much larger than it was when they were running three train operation all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

In general, I find that a lot of the jerkiness is caused by the particular train/car you are riding in rather than the track.

That's interesting Rotunda. I actually rode in the yellow train on June 22. Maybe the train is why it didn't seem all that smooth to me.

Putting it in your signature is one thing. It exists once in data. Putting it in every single post annoys me and it's redundant.

Signature/post nitpicking aside... I rode Gemini yesterday on either side, and was also surprised to find no final trim. Personally I thought it was more fun that way, or at the very least didn't make much of a difference.

As for Magnum, I got slammed harder against the bar than I think I have in past seasons. (Trust me, it's definitely not because of added weight.) I would mention Mean Streak, but the thread title is more of a present tense than the past. ;)

Ha!

I'm pretty sure every time he puts his name at the end of a post that's only existing once in data too, just each time he types it.

Other than the fact that he manually types it each time he posts it is no different than if he put his name in his signature. Now, if he had in both places I could understand.

It IS different. Signatures are one data record. Every post is its own record.

Ohh I understand now, that extra 8 characters is taking up too much space on your server and it "annoys" you. Gotcha.

^

Not when people are reduntantly signing their posts...that's almost as annoying as someone posting an insignificant post that contributes nothing to the conversation.

It has nothing to do with data, and everything to do with trying to call attention to one's self.

^^

But he's not "reduntantly" signing his posts. He puts his name at the end of each post one time just as someone who has it in their signature would. He just does it manually, I'm not sure how that's more redundant than having it in your signature.

It just comes down to that fact that Jeff is annoyed by it and nothing more.

^yes, he is. Each post is stored on the server. So every time he writes his name down, its getting stored. When its in his signature its only stored 1 time and then loaded from that one location every time. So if TedFuzz posts 1,000,000 times he's going to use aproximately 8mb more storage than if he just put -TedFuzz in his signature. So really he'd have to post a few billion times for it to really make an expensive difference.

I just don't understand why he would waste time typing it every time or why he likes doing it.
