Hi,

I took a ride down the causeway earlier this week and was thinking the same thing. The park was dark, it was strange having been up and down that causeway all summer seeing the park lit, only to see complete darkness the other day.

I hope they light it, it'll give me another excuse to take a trip. :)

Even though I do not live around there to see it I think that it is an awsome idea!

Yes, during the holidays, December, Cedar Point will light up the Force with red and green, I mean, what else would you light it up with?

once the news crews get a hold of this information the whole world will know about Cedar Point's Millennium Force and holiday lighting.

A friend and I have plans to see the lights and then eat at Bay Harbor. Somehow, I think that’s exactly what Cedar Point is hoping for. Who will see it? I, for one, will make the trip. Just to have a glimpse of the park is worth it.

You know what would be cool? Is if they lit it up green, and had huge illuminated ornaments on it, like a 300 ft. tall christmas tree, it's a little mishapen but maybe?

One of our favorite Christmas Eve traditions is to go the Jackson Street Pier to see the lights across the bay. A few years back, when the "City of Sandusky" was docked there, they used to play Christmas music over their PA system, and they had a Santa in the Pilot House. We also go to the foot of Ogontz Street, off of First Street, for a much closer view of the Cedar Point lights.

If you happen to be in Sandusky on Christmas Eve, check out the Wayne Street area. The people there line the sidewalks with luminaria for blocks. Also on Columbus Ave north of Perkins Ave. Worth the time and effort.

I wish cedar point used ordinary Christmas lights and decorated the main midway area, and then for a few days let people pay a small fee to take a walk through there.
not sure what the turnout would be, but with Christmas theming and lights in the right places, it would be neat to see(maybe Santa and 8 reindeer flying through the raptor loop or something??!!)

Am I dreaming, or have I heard descriptions of "Christmas In The Park," where, for a fee, you could take a carriage ride through the park?

Was this CP or another amusement park?

I have long been a proponent of CP having "Christmas in the Park" yearly, but with the same level of enthusiasm as Hersheypark. See http://www.hersheypa.com/calendar/christmas.html for more info.

They did Christmas in the Park in 1995, if I recall correctly. You could buy passes, get some souvenirs and ride the Merry-Go-Round. They were offering carriage rides, and you could also buy candy & taffy. There were also some choir performances. It was a lot of fun, and there was no admission charge. Riding the Midway Carousel in December was an experience I will never forget. You could see the whitecaps on Lake Erie, and the ice cold wind rattled your teeth. It was incredible, and I wish they would do it again. I have a sweatshirt with the Christmas in the Park logo on it. I also have the logo as a .JPG file. If you are interested, email me at the address in this message, and I will send it to you.
