Thunderhawk construction question

Okay so is it going to be built out over the pond because this pic is making me say yes

Well, they're either doing one of two things - I think.

1) They're making the pond/lake smaller and going to fill in that corner with dirt. Then place the coaster on "land".

2) They're building a temporary "dam" so they can drain the corner of the lake, put all the footings in and then let the water back out once the coaster is done.

I'm going with #2. If they were filling it with dirt, I'd expect to see a dump truck not a crane putting up a temporary dam.

Thunderhawk is going to look great at MiA.

Don't forget, footings go underground. So, why fill in an area with dirt just to have to excavate it again to form the footings?

looks to me that there copying the way it was setup at gl,
because thay did the same thing to the lake when thay built it there !

Tim it just seems like a lot of money and time to put up wall like that if they were just going fill it with dirt.

That's my take on it, but I'm no construction expert.

No, you're right. I was just saying, there could be another reason why you don't see them filling anything in just yet. That's all. The more likely option is leaving it over water.
