Would laser tag be successful?

Does anyone think a Laser Tag attraction would be successful? I think it would be a perfect fit for Cedar Point. You could easily have 24-30 people at a time in 7-8 minute intervals. I might make this suggestion to them.

Didn't laser tag lose popularity when the 90's showed up? :)

Kings Island had laser tag at one point in time. I'm guessing it didn't do so well, as the building that housed the game now sits empty. It didn't last too long.

Wow, I'm really surprised that most of you don't seem that interested and to hear that King's Islands' laser tag didn't survive. I figured it would be popular. I guess that's why I don't get paid the big bucks to design attractions for Amusement Parks.

9 hour ride to RIDE!!

I was in King's Dominion in April of this year and they still have a Lazer Tag game. I didn't play but I did see quite a bit of younger people ( teen agers) go in to play.

^that may be it right there. Cedar Point does pride itself on being a family friendly park. Perhaps the concept of "shooting people" does not follow their idea of family friendly.

What if they did the Disney thing and put a whole family into a car, gave them all guns and said "now 'kill' as we transport you thru a dark building. Person with the most points wins!!" Now THAT is family friendly.

No, sorry I don't think it would be a big hit at the park unless it was added to the kids area. My oldest moved on to paint ball at about 14 years old.

My sister & brother are opening a lazer tag facility in Georgia late this year. Since these places are out there everywhere, I'm thinking it just wouldn't be a place anyone but younger kids would want to spend precious CP time in.

I think CP could squeeze the space in there, but I would much rather see something much more interesting put in. Unless it was just outrageous compared to any other Laser Tag place.

They have Laser Tag, and a wacky golf place down Rt. 250, and If I recall they have some kind of haunted house or something open year round on Rt. 250.

If NASA did build an attraction out in Sandusky it would only be icing to the cake for families.

I think we have a better chance at seeing a safari with giraffes in Sandusky before laser tag on point :)

Good grief - I don't see it being useful until the park closes. The pools can be very crowded, and Breakers can be just downright not enjoyable after the park closes. Many days Breakers hallways, arcade, pools, and restaurants were beyond busy, and I think the hotel could use added after-hours attractions. *** Edited 9/21/2007 3:32:14 PM UTC by factory81***

I think in the end it's too big of a risk. Lawsuit wise. A bunch of kids running around with strangers of all ages. When your with friends, it can be fun. But with kids or even teens you don't know, you have pushing, name calling, touching, ect. While I'm sure 99 percent of kids would play right, it only takes 1 bad apple.

Then run it like any other laser tag.

Make it an up-charge attraction, and make the parents/guardian be present when the kid "checks in".

The biggest issue, is that there are several off-point laser tag options. I could've sworn I even saw a sign by the Thirsty Pony advertising laser tag.

I think it could be popular as part of an after-hours complex built near the hotels on-point. Something like a Dave & Busters or Jillians.

^ that's like saying, Cedar Point has roller coasters, but I've never ridden them because if i wanted to sit in a vehicle that moved, I would drive my car.

Yeah John, it's just past the Pony on the same side of the road. The sign says "open late" if I remember correctly.

They're trying to capitalize on people leaving the park and still looking for something to do. Exactly what we've been suggesting for a while now that CP look into.

For the record, the Laser tag at King's Island was absolutely horrible. The room that they were using was probably no more than a 500 sq. ft. footprint, so there was nowhere to go in there. Just another cheap ploy by the park to earn an extra buck.
