Goggles on TTD?

Can you wear goggles on Top Thrill? I like to be able to SEE when I'm riding a coaster, and last time I was at CP I wore goggles on Millennium... boy, does that make a difference! :)

What can/can't you take on TTD?

I would imagine that as long as they are secured by a strap it wouldn't be a problem. I always have my sunglasses on (and secured) while I'm at the point, rain or shine (or hail).

John is right. As long as they are secured by with a strap you're fine. I always wear a strap on my glasses at CP. I can't see much without them.

I wear my glasses with a tight fitting strap on all the rides and that is okay. Anything loose (purse, camera, cell phone) has to be in a cargo pocket or stored in a locker. CP sells these straps at their gift shops, but I suggest a store where you can make sure the ends fit on your glasses ahead of time The ones at CP the ends too big to hold my glasses.

I have a problem finding a strap that will go over the ends of the temples. I have Nike tips and they have rubber ends on them, can anyone suggest an alternative to the ones that slide over the end of the temples?

^Check out a sunglass shop or a big retailer (Wal-Mart, etc). That way you can try them on to see if they fit.

You'd look kind of dumb, but ski goggles would work great. You can even get those made prescription if you need too.

I've wore my snowboard goggles on coasters before.
You do look a bit silly wearing them, but they work awesome!

I wear my sunglasses on a lot of rides. I don't wear a strap and I won't wear a strap, so pretty much anything that requires sunglasses with a strap, it's pocket time.

Can I wear a football helmet on the coasters? My head gets banged around on quite a few of them. A football helmet would add to my coaster riding experience ten fold.

I don't know if you are implying that you have too wear glasses to see, but if you do not wear glasses, you really do not need goggles, or glasses to see while on TTD or MF.

I do not wear glasses, -or- eye protection, I keep my eye's WIDE open through-out the entire ride. Every so often a bug may clip the side of my face, but I haven't gotten one in the eye yet... :)

But - I have not ridden any of these rides after dark. So I don't know about night riding with bugs.

Why can't he wear a football helmet? As long as it has a chin strap it wouldn't be any different than when the handicapped kids ride and some of them wear helmets.

I've rode TTD a few times after dark in the front seat, every time my t-shirt has little black specks all over it but my mouth and eyes have luckily been untouched!

You can wear a helmet on a ride if you want to. It just has to be secure and not affect the ride in anyway which would make it less safe for other riders. Also, you can't change the restraint system in anyway.

This is especially important when you have guests who have special needs and need to wear corrective/preventive gear.

Thanks for the replies. I don't HAVE to have my eyes covered, but I like it. The smallest solution is swim goggles, but they don't let your eyes breathe at all. I'm trying some large goggles this time... you'll know me if you see me at Coastermania. :)

And hey, I'm 44... who cares what I look like when I ride? If I'm comfy, that's all that matters.

Looking at the screen name of the guy asking, I think you may have hit on something here.

Martin, Just get a 5 dollar pair of sunglasses from the gas station.

A) if they fall off, who cares, they were 5 bucks.

B) They do the trick. You don't need full seal goggles on your face, just glasses that will force the air around instead of into your eyes. So a pair of Oakley style work great.
