Corkscrew...underated.

Personaly, I think Corkscrew is Underated. Ok, yes it's short, and slightly rough (not too bad though), and it's not huge...but...it's fun. You have to admit its fun. Does anyone else think it's underated? (nothing like doing a corkscrew over the walkway...that's cool)

The Corkscrew is a great ride! We all tend to forget the smaller and older rides after a while since their no longer the tallest or fastest but they are still good.

I'll second that. I remember waiting nearly two hours to ride Corkscrew in its opening year. Coasters have come a long way since then. Corkscrew will always be a sentimental favorite of mine. Plus, it really is a fun ride!
Corkscrew is real cool! Definitely underated. I like sitting in the back cuz when you go over the first hill it yanks you over. That and going over the midway is sweet.
What I found amazing about Corkscrew this year was standing right near the corkscrew (the sweet picture spot), looking at the lift hill, then looking at Maggie's lift, then turning and looking at MF's massive lift hill, and marveling at how far we have come in 20-odd years. I must have stood there for 10 minutes just grinning from ear to ear.
As for the ride itself, I was disappointed in how rough it's become over the years, but I still had a lot of fun.
Here's hoping to another 20 plus years of Corkscrew riding. :-)

jjfang: Couldn't agree with you more.

I do hope CP gives it facelift for it's 25yr. anniversary...i.e. paint job, a tunnel after the corkscrew...something.
Corkscrew will always be a favorite of mine - quick and sweet, it always makes me laugh (in a good way!)! CP wouldn't be the same without it.

Corkscrew is Extreamly OVERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!
No.........disaster transport is Extremely OVERRATED!!!!!!!
No ride is overrated or underrated -- everyone has their personal favorites according to the thrills they look for. CP is great because it does have that mix for everyone.

The only think about the Corkscrew that I don't like is the second hill. I'm pretty tall and my shoulders hurt pretty bad after that. But other than that, it's pretty cool for an old Arrow. Don't get me wrong, nothin against Arrow. I'll always ride the Corkscrew, because it's just that, the Corkscrew.
I think that the second hill, back seat is awesome, the best part of the ride!
It's an enjoyable ride, but I found it to be too rough for my likings.

Somewhere on this website (I think in the Iron Dragon description), somebody makes the point that some coaster really need their surroundings to make the ride. Corkscrew is one of these rides. It's great flying through the corkscrew over the midway.

The Corkscrew is my number 1 Arrow looping coaster at Cedar Point! I really have a thing for one of the Team Leaders!

We are missing something.
I did not think too highly of The Corkscrew, at least it is not a cookie cutter Arrow Corkscrew. The double down, the verticle loop, and the corkscrew over the walkway make it fun. But, wouldn't you rather see a better sit down looper at CP? I am by no means a local, but if CP was my home park I would be screaming for a good (better) sitdown looper.

Only 2,290½ miles from Cedar Po!nt.
The Corkscrew was probably the biggest surprise I found on my first trip to CP. I had been on a couple regular corkscrews before, and wasn't too impressed. My first ride in CP's was in the backseat, an incredible ride with two unexpected pops of quality airtime. I also loved the flying over the midway sensation, where you could see people stop and stare.
Corkscrew is not underrated! It's actually more fun to watch then to ride (with the possible exception of the bunny hop...)

You want an underrated coaster? Go north a few hundred yards and look at that massive dual tracked steel/wood structure.
