Ghost stories

I was browsing web pages, and I came across a web page with a link that said "Ghost Stories". I clicked on it, and I came across some stories that left me wondering "is it true or not?" Well I decided to come here for some help. Here is what it said. The first story was called "Death Drop", to save some time writing, Ill just paste the srory. A few years after the Demon Drop, at Cedar Point, opened a man reportedly died while riding. Right as the car reached the top of the climb the anxiety grew too strong to handle and the man suffered a heart attack... Now-a-days park operators say that everyday, at precisely the time the man died, the car that he rode in stalls at the top. Perhaps someone is holding the car back from taking the plunge. Is it that the man's ghost has some unfinished business. He never did get to complete the ride...Alive, that is. The second one is called "Half turn at midnight" One day a young high school couple was spending the day together at Cedar Point. They had been fighting quite frequently. It seems the young man was a little obsessive and over protective. The girl couldn't take it anymore she was being suffocated. She decided the relationship must end. So she picked a nice quiet spot where the two could be alone, The Ferris Wheel. This is where she broke the news. The young man could not handle it and he jumped out of the car committing suicide. The operator reversed the Ferris Wheel to empty the half full ride and last to exit was the girlfriend or ex-girlfriend I suppose. She had a blank dazed look on her face... The Ferris Wheel is still running today and every night at, 12 o'clock, the Ferris Wheel unexplainably takes a half turn backwards as if forced to repeat that horrible event over and over again... But hauntings rarely occur as a result of suicide. Perhaps the girl needed a place alone for a different reason. A place away from prying eyes where she could conduct some sordid business... Perhaps, but we may never know. If anyone knows anything please reply. Oh, by the way, please dont delete the topic.

Sounds like Halloweekends are on their way :)
I was at the Point on the 7th and as we were leaving, my two escorts tried to convince me that parts of the park were haunted. That rides mysteriously come on in the middle of the night. I wonder if there are ANY truths to these myths... The fact that there were vampirish ghouls in several places for HalloWeekends set the mood for there story though. :)
I worked at Disaster Transport for 3 years. My 1st year someone tried to convinceme that the ride was haunted. I did not believe them of course...until I saw it. I was cleaning in the que line about 15 min. after the park closed. I was under the stairs that take you up to the station. All the sudden I heard a noise. I turned around and saw a man standing there looking at me. Not thinking anything of it I turned around. Then it hit me. No one should have been in there, we had been closed for 15 min, and besides in order to get behind me he would have had to pass me. So I turned around to get another look and he was gone. Once again he would have had to pass me to get out. I then decided that the line was clean enogh and I was leaving. I ran upstairs and threw me broom and dustpan down and left. I worked there for 2 more years and saw a outline of a person in the cameras(I had other people look at it to so I knew I was not crazy). Anythime anything wierd happened we would always say "Oh,it's just Max!"
Remember Crystal??
My horror story involves the scary legend of people waiting ten hours to ride a coaster called Banshee. It was a stand-up-inverted coaster that was entirely over lake erie. It sunk. :) :) :)
Sunk, eh? Kinda like my home island of Caspiar...
Wow those are scary:( ahhh does anyone else have anymore of these stories?
There was a fat man that would visit CP everyday and drink beer at the Red Garter. One day, they didn't have any beer so the fat man got really mad. He ran to the carp pond by CCMR and jumped in. He drowned...... but he turned into the monster carp. Anytime the monster carp surfaces to eat that brown dried poop that is 25 cents, it sounds like someone is saying "beeeeeer" in the wind.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the stories I posted? *** This post was edited by Coaster guy2000 on 9/16/2000. ***
I seriously doubt it, but they were appropriately posted with HalloWeekends and all.
The story about Demon Drop being haunted by a man who died on the ride from a heart attack? Yeah, that's true. It's haunted. Don't ride it.

The story about the heartbroken man who supposedly committed suicide on the ferris wheel who now makes the wheel turn a half revolution backwards to relive the whole moment again? Yeah, that's totally true. If I were you, I'd never ride the ferris wheel again. It's haunted. Everybody knows it's haunted. Keep your distance.

Oh yeah, don't ride Magnum, either. It's sinking.

Urband legand or real?
ooooooooooh!! ;)
Hey coasterguy, sorry to say that I have never heard either of the stories that you posted. I have worked at the park for more than a decade.. and the only story on this thread that even sounds remotely familiar is the one about Disaster.. There are plenty of fun stories that have gone around the park ( But niether of yours are really one of them). The Giant Wheel does not turn at midnight, and no one is holding any cars back at Demon Drop..Many people who have worked at the park for a long time can tell you our ghost stories and maybe some of thier own strange tales. I would love to tell you about some of my own "Experiences".. but the last time I put anything in writing.. the whole world believed the Magnum was sinking..
Ah yes, the imfamous "Magnum is Sinking" rumor. I believe you had an accomplice in the making of that rumor, didn't you?
Didnt think so, thanks for the info:)

I heard the rumor was created by a newspapper pulling an April fools joke.

Nope, it was Jenn and one of her co-workers. You can read the confession on this site, but that was a long time ago, like back last year.
Yes.. I did have an accomplice.. as a matter of fact, I believe he was the brains of the whole operation which would make me his accomplice :) and.. if you are out there Erik.. call me. I miss you! When are you going to come back where you belong? Perhaps after Jamaica? Wish I could be there! Coasterguy.. the CP webpage does say that it was started as an April Fools day joke in a newspaper.. those of us who read "BTL" know the real story :)
To the person that asked for a story.. we'll see :) *** This post was edited by Jenn on 9/19/2000. ***
