Car 5...is it really the best

When riding MF lately I have noticed that the most intense rides seems to be closer to the back. While sitting in car 7 and 8 (a few back from 5) after the first turn around until about halfway through the tunnel I noticed I would almost black out. None of this in car 5. Basically it was fuzzy in that area a few cars behind 5. During MM I noticed this for the first time. I have yet to red out or black out or get fuzzy in car 5. Also I have noticed less air in the back then the middle or front. And yes there is air in the back but I don't think it is as much as the front or middle. The air in the back comes when descending the hills and not topping them. Anyways just some observations I noticed. Do others think it is more intense in the back instead of car 5?

I think the last seat gives the best ride on MF. It's the most intense and has the most air, in my experience. That's a good thing because I find it fairly easy to get, most people seem to head to the front even if the very front seat is already occupied.

MF is the only coaster that I find every seat to be equally good. Each seat offers a different experience, but they are all good.
Front – Great view, big air time, lots of bugs :)
Middle – To answer the original question, I think the middle does have more G’s then the front or back. Decent air time also.
Back – You get the nice “launched from your seat” effect going down the first hill.

I don't know about 5-1 now, but in June it rocked. But now 1-1 is the best overall.

I think that the back car is the best ride. Getting pulled over the top gives soooo muchh air time. The third hill also has amazing airtime.

Can we try to keep it to the original question? Has anyone blacked out or anyting like that farther back then car 5. I don't want to see this turn into a best MF seat topic. Thanks :)

nah, Hooper. never had that problem...of course, i've always sat somewhere near the middle, and seat 2-1 once(so close yet so far), but on my very first ride, which was 5-1(you saw us get car 5, too, remember?) both Dark Time Now and i flirted with red-outs. the G's in car 5 coming out of the first drop are INCREDIBLE!! but i've ridden car 5 once mare in June and did not have that problem at all...so i guess i really can't answer your question too well:)!! happened once, kind of, never again in five or any other seat...

I think I was behind car 5, and I didn't notice a great abundance of positive G's and blackouts.

If you are in the front part of the train you will lots of airtime. In the back you do blackout at least i did.

Never blacked out or grayed out or red out before on any coaster.

I'd like to try Car #5 sometime, but so far the seating policy has made that impossible... --Dave Althoff, Jr. Who DID get a front seat ride once, but only once...

hey Dave, ay least you got that!! problem getting car 5 is that it is rather difficult to "count off" where the gates are for the trains...like we ALL know where 1-1 is right away and where 9-2 is right away, but it's kinda hard to see EXACTLY where 5-1 and 5-2 are. both my car 5 rides have been by pure luck...and they are gonna have to carry me through a LOOONNNGGG off-season

i spend most the ride looking out behind me when in back seat, so i guess i didnt black out,but seeing that first hill drop off behind you is quite a sight, even looking out on way up is too.

Yeah, I kept counting over and over when in line. That time I got 5-1, and then I did it another time and I counted wrong and got 4-2.

I've been lucky, I guess. In my 7 MF laps, I've gotten 1-1, 1-2 (by choice), 5-1 (twice), and 9-2. Forget what the remaining two were.

Personally I didn't find 5-1 all that much more intense. Am I missing something here? (I don't even understand WHY a car in the middle would be the most intense one, someone care to explain the physics of that? I understand back/front/ejector seats, but MIDDLE?)

The first seat is the BUG SEAT! I almost sat in 1-1, but let my two escorts have it and I took 1-2 after seeing all the people with bugs splattered all over them. 5-1 doesn't seem any different to me. BUT I never tighten my seat belt. Hell, I leave it extremely loose, so I tend to get plenty of air time on any seat that I occupy. :) Now, seat 1-3 on Magnum is SCARY! I thought that I was going to get thrown out and that lap bar bruised my legs all the way across... OUCH! *** This post was edited by MilleniumLady on 9/14/2000. ***

I've rode it many times, but the most memorable rides were 1-1, 5-2, and in the rain one time, but I forget the car!
