With the recent flaming going on here I thought this would enlighten things a little bit. Since the master of magic has made a 747 plane and the Statue of Liberty disappear, wouldnt it be cool if David Copperfield had a special show where he could make MF disappear? I would love to see that. Any thoughts on this? Dont worry MF fanatics, he will surely make it reappear so you can continue to ride it!

I wouldn't go there if I were David Copperfield. Every magic trick that I have seen on TV involving a coaster (Desperato, cough, cough) have been lame.

I'll be the first to admit what magicians do is amazing. Of course, I know it's all an illusion.
I wonder, though, since it is an illusion, where would he have the audience and cameras positioned? MF isn't just one big tall thing (a la a 747 or the Statue Of Liberty), it spans a large area. Because of this (the length of MF from the last turnaround to the first after the drop is quite long), there might not be any place to sit the audience to give the illusion. Follow?

I watched the one that made the island disappear, and it would be cool to do with MF, especially if they did it when people were riding -- aka, the screams get cut off when the coaster disappears! Neat trick.

The audience is virtually always in on the trick, despite what they want you to believe. Generally, making large objects disappear on TV involves lots of creative camera work, also despite what they want you to believe. You'll notice that the final reveal in these sorts of tricks is always from a fixed camera angle...that should clue you in :)
