Polar Plunge

Cedar Point's doing Polar Plunge today. Actually, it may already have happened. Does anyone know of any sites that covered these crazies jumping into the frozen lake?

I recall PointBuzz doing it last year. A co-worker is doing it, and I was wondering if there were any shots from the event.

I saw Walt there so I will imagine he will post pictures later.

By the way is was COLD! It hurt to move your legs through the water from all the ice. My legs have the cuts and bruises to prove it. But, it was still very much worth it! I think they said the event raised $15,000.

Yes, they had a nice turnout. They had more than double the number of participants that they did last year.

I had such high intentions of going, but sadly, stuff came up and I couldn't make it.

I'm glad to hear it did so well this year. But, I'll stick to the slightly warmer charitable events like the the Putt Putt Tournament and the Redcross Rider Auction. I'm cold enough sitting here at home. ;)

Looks like it was a bit chillier than last year in March. ;)

Ha. Thanks. My co-worker's in a few of those shots. He's wearing a Hawaiian shirt, an inflated Spider-man ring thing around his neck, a fedoralike hat, and he has black-rimmed glasses.

Fun times.

Hey Walt,

How come I dont see you in any of them pictures?;)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Nice of them to cut a chunk of the lake out. :)

Funny thing was, by the time they started, the lake was already beginning to freeze over again.

I'm in a few of the pics. I'm pretty sure I'll do this event again in the future. I had more fun than I thought I would.

If I did that, I'd have a grabber and they'd have one less fundraiser.

I like the picture of the guy that has his white socks on. How funny is that? :)
