Lunar Luau 2000

Anyone happen to be staying in the hotels Tuesday night? Could you hear us all partying in Frontierland until the wee hours of the morning? Cedar Point put on QUITE on a party for all us and we were LOUD! I thought it was really fun (although I was really hoping to win that microwave in the raffle!)...any other employee comments?
You can stay in the park after closing?!?!?!

The employees do lots of crazy stuff after hours, I'm sure. When I was up there at the end of July, we were coming back to Hotel Breakers from a lake-area drive at around midnight, and I saw them playing "The Matrix" on the Summer Spectacular screen.

I always knew there was a real purpose for that thing... :) I think I'll install one at my house :)
Big Bash is an annual employee party back in Frontier Town, which the management puts on the thank the seasonal employees. Mean Streak, CCMR, and usually Wave Swinger are running, and there are tons of games for hokey prizes. It's always themed (1998 = Mardi Gras and so forth), and there is tons of FOOD! Hot dogs, burgers, pizza, soda, ice cream, popcorn, caramel apples, everything. It's a great time for the employees!

CrystalKat,is it just the way it looks, or do you miss working at the point alot? :)
*GRIN* I do miss working there, after three summers you really feel at home! I still visit every year though, but FL is just too far away from my favorite playground!

Yep...it was a great Big Bash! This year it was themed to a Polynesian Luau. All kinds of free food: popcorn chicken, mini corn dogs, nachos, pretzels, pizza, "moon smothies", "lunar ice cream". Games included a dice rolling game, weight guesser, hula hoop toss, water balloon toss, and everyone's favorite "Dunk the Supervisor". They gave out prizes everytime and when there were a lot of people in line they just tossed out the prizes! They were: Big Bash t-shirts, straw hats, glow-in-the-dark necklace thingies, and leis. The leis were a kind of booby prize and the more a person had...the more games they had lost!!! It was a lot of fun and really great seeing my supervisors serving up food from the Frontiertown food counters. Also very amusing seeing so many co-workers a little tipsy...
