Is Wood really Good?

CCI has done some twisters that are pretty good and actually have air. In reality, they are more of a twisted freeform than a true twister, but still. =)
I have only ridden 2 CCI coasters, The Legend and Raven, I must say outstanding the legend in the front is awesome the raven in back is awesome. I will soon be riding Shivering Timbers and Hurricane Category 5 soon.
I like the new Gerstlaur trains too. I wood love to see a CCI at Cedar Point. I have to say the staff at Holiday World is 100 times more friendly then Cedar Point, very very clean park too, and pretty.

Force Rides - 20

It has been said by the wise man in the Lemon, that woodies are favored because they never give the same ride twice. The wood was at one point very much alive. This simple factor allows the wood to bend and shift. Something steel doesn't do.

Yeah, I wanna see a CCI woodie with steel supports like Villain. I think it'd be cheaper to maintain because you wouldn't have to check the structure itself as often.

For a side note, I LOVE GEMINI, maybe more than anyone else. The steel track and wood supports complement each other very nicely, and it just looks cool. If Gemini were a 1978 woodie, though, I might not ride it as much. CCI, however, has proven that they are the B&M's of the wooden industry, and lacking a decent, airtime producing woodie, we need a CCI.
I say we need a CCI with as much "Air - Time" as Shivering Timbers with Villian's lay out!

If you know what I mean.

I think the next Big coaster that CP will get will be wood. There are too many people that like Wooden coasters, so CP isn't going to stop building them because of cost. They will raise admission prices to make up for that.

Just my 2 cents!!!

I haven't had the opportunity to ride many wood coasters. Apparently I am a newbie to this genre. However, I have ridden BS, MS, and Beast. They all seem rough to me. The experience is equivalent to sitting in a chair while the ride op hits you with a 2x4. For some I guess this is a blast.

Has anyone ridden a smooth woodie before?
What ever the Coaster, Cedar Point needs to name it after the Mantis, BANSHE!!!! {Ohhhahaha}{Grin}
That's what I think all woodies should be like! I love rough rides!

Nut - there ARE many smooth woodies out there - most of the new ones built by CCI, for example, plus some classics - i.e. the Phoenix, GE Comet, SCBB Giant Dipper - that have been lovingly maintained.
