Name the mystery food

Some of you may have noticed that the Belgian waffles have been brought back and are available at the Stockade in Frontiertown.

Now, is it my imagination, or was there another "waffle" available way back when? This treat was in the shape (roughly) of an octagon, was thin and crispy, about two inches in height, and was dipped in powdered sugar.

What was the name of this treat and where did it go?

Your description sounds a lot like a funnel cake. I don't like funnel cakes so I don't know if they ever had them , have them now, or had them once and brought them back.

It's not a funnel cake. This is completely different beast - much smaller, about 6 inches in diameter. It would never be confused with a funnel cake.

They still serve funnel cakes at several locations.

It almost sounds like a pazzel(sp). I have never seen what you are talking about at the point, but to me it sounds like a pazzel!

I remember what you're talking about, and it was there just a couple of years ago, but I can't remember the name. Maybe French? Or maybe it was called a Belgian Waffle too.

It's not a pizelle (I think that's how you spell it). That's a very thin, Italian cookie. I will say, though, you haven't lived until you've had an authentic, homemade pizelle.

I thought that it was called a Belgian waffle, as well. But then when I went to the Stockade a few weeks ago, I just go confused again :)

It's definitely French waffles (although waffles in France, called gauffres, are just like ours except they use sugar instead of maple syrup, and they are a snack food rather than a breakfast food). My mother has an obsession about Cedar Point's French waffles, and she brings back bags every year. Unfortunately, it's been getting harder to find them in the park - only one food stand near the antique cars on the main midway still seems to offer them (perhaps the food area by the space spiral too?)

It is called a french waffle, and the only stand in the park that serves them is the Corral, located next to the Raptor. Just hop in the Funnel Cake/Soft Serve lines and you can have a tasty French Waffle from park open till late at night!!! And they're cheap too! :)
