Power Tower Question

I have a Power Tower question:

Does each tower run totally seperate? Or do they all share the controls.
Also, on the drops, do they push a button for when it drops, or is it all computerized?

Ok, while waiting in line for the space shot side, I could of sworn I saw one of the ride ops hit a button, and instantly the 12 riders were 240 feet in the air. So I think its up to the ride ops when they get launched on the Space Shot side. This guy was standing by the exit too, just to clear that up, not in the building.

When I rode it in July, we were talking with the ride op on the Space Shot side, he liked messing with our minds as to when we'd be launched. He did say there was total control over when it was launched, or dropped on the other side. He was talking with us and mid sentenced launched us skyward. Definitely made it more exciting by not know when you're were gonna go. As for the drop side, he said if they saw someone who was really scared, they'd let them sit at the top a little longer to contemplate their predicament and make their peace with God hahahahaaha

We had someone do that to us on the launch last year!!

There are separate controls for each tower, so that if one tower breaks the other ones can still work. The ride ops (I think), have one button that starts the ride, so they don't control when you drop, but when you leave the ground. For the shot side, of course that's the most exciting part, and they start the ascent for the other side. That seems to be how it works, because a lot of the other rides work like that!

Then on the drop, is it a random wait time? because I saw one car sit at the top for over 10 seconds once, and when I went on it, I started counting, and we dropped after about 4 or 5.

Every time I've been on it, it's about 7 seconds. Maybe the time you saw it up there longer, the computer had a blip or something.

Unlike Demon Drop, Power Tower has no set time at the top for the following reason.

I am going to use Space Shot for an example (although the Drop works the same way). Ever wonder why Power Tower's vehicle is razed up just before launch? Well, when the seat razes up before it goes skyward it is weighed by Power Towers computer system. In that Milo second the computer figures out how much the vehicle, with riders weighs total and fills the air tank (properly called the "Shot tank" by S&S engineers) appropriately. Doing a little web surfing I found (web site listed below) that the computer also compensates for such things as atmospheric pressure.
