Thrust Air 2000

ThrustAir is a coaster because it makes a complete circuit. To me, if you consider S:TE a coaster, then Demon Drop is a coaster.

And speaking of S:TE, is it any good? How come there are no other clones out there?
Demon drop would be more like a coaster because it kkind of makes a complete circuit, a different track for up than down...

HA HA HA, MELLENIUM FORCE, YEAH BUDDY!
If CP does build a TA2K I think they will break records with it. I still think they need a new wooden coaster before they get anything else though (not that I would have a problem with a 400 ft TA2K at CP). I think a TA2K is considered a coaster more than S: TE as it makes a complete circuit. I actually think S: TE is gimmick coaster (notice I did say it was a coaster) just designed to break a record and thats it. I'm sure it is a great ride but honestly which would you rather see CP, MM or any other park get. A 500 ft S: TE type of ride or a 400 ft complete circuit coaster??? Without question I would vote for the complete circuit.
I read something in thrill ride that TA2K could have loops, more height, more hills, more take off speed. I would want CP to get one if it was 400ft. & 100mph and more to it.

Could S&S be the next B&M
Everyone wants B&M now, next it might be S&S
I heard on the Discovery Channel that it would eventually have more hills and turns, etc...which is good because after the first hill, the layout is nothing...just a turn.
Lordgonchar & RRacer,

You are right, the TA2K announced for PKD is a full circut, making IT a coaster. If CP were to get one, taller & faster than S:TE that would settle the debate. However, I have heared different things about TA2K's, some of S&S's designs (not built, just designed) are not full circuts, some are shuttles. The huge designs for TA2K's (300 foot and higher) have not yet been made public, to my knowlege. THEY might not be the full circut, but we don't know.

net,
I love S:TE, and so does most of the GP. (when exiting the ride, everyone getting off usually is like, "WOW, thats fast!") The debate seems to be with coaster enthusiasts, some love it, others think it is a waste of time. I love the sheer speed and height, nothing compares, IMO. There is one clone in Austrailia, called the Tower of Terror. It is single track, not double. I think the reason for so few of these rides is the cost vs. ridership. They cost megabucks.

Not to mention horrible capacity.

The capacity on these things (Thrust Air) looks incredibly low too. Especially with the simple little design they're using for this first one. Maybe someday when they do have a more complete layout and places for blocks, then they can get pumping people out, but for now I can't see why PKD would want this version, except for the hype.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like ALOT of fun, but in a few short years this one will seem very dated for its age.

Soggy-

I had no idea that S&S had designed shuttle versions. The only one I ever saw was that prototype one that we're all familiar with. There's where the confusion obviously was in our conversation. I was assuming full circuit and you were thinking shuttle. Which brings up another question...

Would a 400+ footer shuttle be the largest coaster or would it have the asterisk beside it like S:TE?
Shuttle or complete circuit, it would be sweet to ride. On another note, I was watching Discovery's show "Scream Parks" when they profiled SFMM. Did anyone else catch the ACE member talking about S:TE? Although the narrators called it a coaster, the ACE member never did, he always just called it a ride. Thought that was funny. While we're also discussing the complete circuit thing, how are rides like Vekoma Invertigo's classified. I mean, they are an inverted coaster, but they don't make a complete circuit. Just wondering what everyone's take is on that.

Can anyone explain how a Thrust Air works? The proto type sounds realy loud on the Discovey channel.
Thanks soggy! Makes sense to me. I'll have to head out to Valencia one day and ride it. Been meaning to go back to SFMM for quite some time.
