The FunCoast Cam

Is it just me or does anyone else get on the webcam and see people pointing the camera directly into private boats. You can see what the people are doing on their boats. I think people need to stop being peeping toms. The point of the camera is to look at Cedar Point and some surrounding landmarks, not to watch people in their private lives. It makes me sick that every time I look at the camera it is always lookin in on someones boat. Just my opinion. What do you guys thing about it?

I was watching it one time and whoever was controling the camera was keeping it directly on some attractive young lady sitting on a dock with her feet in the water fishing. I thought it was almost rude. So whoever was doing that...if you're reading this, I saw you do it!! lol.

i think you should stop looking at the pictures of those who are looking at other folks boats!! lol but i get your point.

Seriously, I would be pissed if I knew I was being watched by a webcam.

Who cares? If you are out in public these days,you should assume you are on camera. Yes,even out in a boat on the lake,you never know who is watching. I feel bad for the girl someone was watching,but it's going to happen if you put a camera near the water in the summer that can be controlled by anyone.

Only place I feel secure is in my own home because I know the cameras would have to be put in by me.

Who cares? That is the problem with people these days. No morals and no ethics. If you were actually on the boat dock would you stare into a boat to see what is going on inside? Seriously if people like you keep saying who cares, we are going to allow all of our private rights to be discarded.

I want to get things straight with you guys. I'm not some fanatic about privacy laws and such, but it really sucks when you are on vacation on your boat and anyone can see what you are doing. I guess a big sign should confront you before docking that says: It is a possibility that your actions will be viewed by people around the world. Honestly I don't know if such a sign exists, but I doubt it does.

This just in, FunCoast Cam site hits up 45% since the posting of this topic.

If you really have a problem, maybe you should Email FunCoast about it...

I figure it's not too bad to be interesting enough to have a bunch of fans watching at home. Until the camera is in a public bathroom, I can feel comfortable enough in public even if someone may be entertained by my presence. If I find my image on freaks.com, I may feel a bit different.

This has nothing to do with someone having morals and ethics. You are out in public, there is no privacy law being broken here. If you are in a 19' bowrider screwing in the bay there, you take the chance of being seen. It isn't in your bedroom or your bathroom,it's a camera mounted on a boat dock looking at a public waterway.

I'm sure the park cams are wrong too right? I mean afterall, you can see attractive young women walking on the midway and riding Skyhawk. Plus you can see construction workers taking a leak on the new ride.

If you want to keep wishing it was the 1950's,please go ahead.I am more realistic about things and just assume I am being watched.I don't do anything criminal or otherwise unacceptable in public so I could care less,I have better things to worry about than whether a webcam is watching me or not.I am not saying privacy is a matter to be taken lightly,just until it's in my house,I simply don't give a damn.That view may not be for everyone but it's how I feel about it.There are many more things to worry about in life than if a person in BFE is watching me fish or watching me on my boat.

So, the thousands of people driving down the causeway, hundreds of people using the marina and the rest of Sandusky along the shoreline isn't enough of a warning that someone might see you?
